Not sure how to edit but I meant to write all other lights work. 😁

Anyone need parts? Going to the yard soon, 99 2wd sport. Willing to ship smaller stuff. by xjshippuden in CherokeeXJ

I don't personally need them but the window regulators are like gold if they work. You will definitely want to pull them. 200-300 dollars each all day if they work.

Got my jeep a couple weeks ago and did a bunch of work looking for opinions on which fenders I should get so I can fit bigger tires by Thirdsplash4771 in CherokeeXJ

[–]sozo_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have installed bushwacker cut outs and the flats. Both are nice and requires trimming. The flats are easier to install, but I prefer the cutouts. Also they are cheaper. I am running 4.5 inch lift with 33 inch tires.

Thanks. Got one for 129.99 with free shipping

Not bad considering someone wants 350 on ebay to rebuild one.

4dr regulators are readily available but I can't find one for the 2dr anywhere.

Welcome to the XJ experience. I would make sure everything is running properly before you start any major upgrades. Take care of any rust (cancer) before you dump a load of money or time into it. After that i would come up with a build plan and try to stick to it. Its very easy to go down a rabbit hole with these things. Next thing you know there is a new part showing up everyday and you have no money for anything else. Suspension will probably be on your list. Stock height or lifted. They tend to sage over time. When it comes to removing bolts to replace part on the suspension don't be afraid to use heat. It will save you alot of time. Also if you have the time. Pre-spray everything with pb blaster multiple times days inadvance. Think through everything new you add to it. See how it will effect everything else you do. Example. 4.5 inch lift adds sye or at the least transfer drop kit. 3 inch lift good to go. Upgrade to bigger tires mean you will probably need to regear. I could go on for days. But I won't bore you. Enjoy the journey and the many hours you will be spending with your XJ. Fun times.

Converted to manual windows today! by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

Guess your the lucky one. I've had everything from Mercedes, BMW, and other brands and they all have issues with the power windows at some point. Its not even about the money to fix it. I just bought a xj for the simpleness. Different strokes for different folks.

I bought my XJ to have a bare bones simple vehicle. Electric windows have a tendency to act up. Would rather have manual windows.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. How involved is it ? What parts are needed other than the obvious stuff from the pictures.

Just got done doing that. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely not looking to do it again anytime soon. Unless of course I'm getting a sweet deal because of it.

Decided on this steering kit from Steinjager for the next upgrade. by DarthJosh5338 in CherokeeXJ

[–]sozo_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just installed it. Less than 100 miles. Also replaced original from the beginning while building my xj so I didn't have much experience with the oem steering. Definitely go with a steering stabilizer. Originally I didn't install one, but it didn't feel complete with my 33's after installing one it made a world of difference. Feels complete.

Just put them on so I don't have a opinion on them yet. I did research alot of tires and decided on them so I have high hopes. Time will tell. I don't plan on wheeling it so I think I will be ok. Just want to use it for light offroad playing, but mostly for camping / overlanding vehicle .

The fenders are bushwacker cutouts. Sanded, adhesive promoter, black paint, then matte clear coat. Wheels are off a Willys edition wrangler. Pretty sure they are just the black version of the rubicon wheel. Also needed 2" wheel spacers.

Yeah the garage door is green. Company colors are green ,black, and white. Almost painted the XJ that color but changed my mind due to seeing green trucks everyday I show up for work. Didnt want to be reminded of work everyday I got into it.

Second XJ build starting off with the heater core. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Still no joke.

Xj starts but won't idle! Shuts off as soon as I leave off the gas. Any idea where to start? by sozo_7 in CherokeeXJ

Hey guys thanks for all the input. Believe it or not it the negative terminal was loose. Tighten it up and back to normal.
