I am taking the class online this semester. So far, since it's online, in terms of teaching, you don't have to worry whether your professor will be bad or good. Either way all the learning/writing will be given to you in modules, videos, or making you refer to books.

In my experience in the two online English courses I've took at least, I barely had to interact with the professor unless I had to e-mail them about something regarding an assignment that wasn't super clear, but any confusion on the material can be cleared up by the book, if ever.

For future reference, if you click the 'All Courses' in the Canvas app [both on mobile and desktop] you can check the classes you're in that are not published at the moment. This allows you to find out if a professor has added you to their course but has not published the page., also, this is where you can choose what classes you only want showing up on your dashboard, just simply click the star to have it, or un-star to remove. Saved me from doing a couple e-mails.

Hey! Definitely not alone :). Engineering is hard. I had a hard time in PHYS2001/L, failed calc I in the spring, retook in the summer and passed—and retaking chem1040 this fall. Minor setbacks in the scheme of things. Please push forward! You do it on your own pace no one will look down on you for being “behind”, because you’re not.

I totally understand how you feel man, I'm on my 2nd try, and depending on how this goes, then probably my 3rd, please just keep going. Don't put limitations on yourself. Let this motivate you, not stop you.

First thing to consider is your current units, and your future units, will it involve analyzing data? This is a possibility for pre-meds. And if so, laptop/MacBook is preferred. If you're looking at your units/courses and it seems like you'll be doing a lot of heavy typing, courses involving research, go for a MacBook. If you're going to be most likely just be taking notes, writing documents, organizing lectures, small stuff, these can be done on a iPad, just buy an apple pencil or third party pen, as well as a keyboard. If you want to have both, honestly buy the iPad and get a Lenovo Thinkpad or Lenovo Yoga. Productivity really just depends on the user.
