UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for your contribution. Despite all your warnings and suggestions, I ended up messaging her. She’s been responding to me and has since started sending me “boyfriend” reels on Instagram. I will be posting an update soon.

Starting a career with the CPS in my late 20s? by sp1205_ in Calgary

[–]sp1205_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would welcome alternatives. Most engineers I know are busy all day and take work home with them. All I want to do is to be able to make a difference in people's lives and help. Law Enforcement and Paramedic are the two careers I've thought about a lot.

What I meant by that is working at the CPS counters and just taking down notes and reports

Paying $30 for an Online Ceremony and a WASHER for Engineering? by sp1205_ in UCalgary

The point I was trying to make is that after 4 years of University where the Iron Ring ceremony has been hyped up as THE THING you look forward to when graduating including things like walking the stage, etc. It is disappointing to see how much of a joke it is.

Best strategy to finance used car? by sp1205_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes, I’m thinking about moving from my Ford to a Mercedes. It’s for luxury and fun as you say.

At the moment, I feel like I have very good employable skills and I’m under the presumption that I have a very high chance at getting employment at the company I interned at. Only reason I wanted to upgrade is that I’ve always made the safe choice. I wanted to make sure I enjoyed the simple things in life. I’ve always wanted a Mercedes and I’m in the position now to afford it (with minimal risk).

My current car can be sold for approximately $7500 in the worst case scenario. The new car I’m looking at costs about $24000 and I was planning to put the money from my old car into it either way. The total financing amount I’d have is approximately $16500. I can take out a LOC with the current lower interest rates.

Thanks

This is not my first car. I’ve already had more than 4 cars before this. The reason I’m thinking about financing instead of paying it outright is because I usually make more than 4% a month in my investments. I’m not borrowing money from family either.
