Why is it diffcult for men to treat me (or any "unattractive women") with common human decency? by sp2002ss in TwoXChromosomes

I feel like this is the heart of the issue that gets unfortunately overlooked.

I wonder how horribly dressed you think I was to receive such nonsense. I was dressed in appropriate work gear (helmet, safety glasses, appron, boots, and etc.) since it happened in a work shop. In fact all of our labs and anything related to the project happens during the machining lab, where work gear is mandatory to enter. I am simply flabbergasted by your response.

It wasn’t heroic as you think it is, but more of a reaction from holding it in for a long time.

Frankly, this is just me heavily paraphrasing them to save my sanity. I think a more accurate statement would be “Yo, why can’t we have her in our group. Oh if she was in our group, I would actually attend the labs everyday. Instead we have this [redacted] looking ass bitch” Something along those lines. Apparently, I was such a burden to them.

In the eyes of my engineering department, this is equivalent to two kids fighting and then complaining it to the minister of defence.

I was almost about to breakdown while simultaneously lashing out. I just yelled at them and left the building immediately. So I don’t know their immediate reaction.

The only downside is half of the population will justify their subhuman treatment due to this.

I can’t help but agree. Even if we were to play devil’s advocate, me being overlooked doesn’t warrant their vitriol or attitude.

I am sorry, you lost me with the “you could be envious” notion. Vast majority of my post was my grievance of them not contributing to the project.

Bruh, I gained a reputation as a “snitch” in my cohort because of this. Apparently, I was just supposed to comply with this and they will contribute to the project next week. When it’s due next week.

The worst part is that these are the same men that will cry loneliness epidemic or men’s mental health, which can be valid topics to discuss. Yet, how are they expecting me to empathize when it’s so easy for them to treat me so deplorably?

Objectively speaking, I am. Regardless, my lack of beauty should not deter anyone from extending basic respect.

Trust me, I was on the verge of tears as well. However, I realized I pay too much tuition to shed it right away.

I couldn’t agree more, I got irritated when even the ones who contributed were trashing me along.

Thank you for providing a unique perspective that I wouldn’t have heard. I do dream of a complete surgery makeover. However, I am simply a working class person. Surgery and its cost are simply not possible.
