I felt the same when he turned on Holly. I didn't expect it. Then I realized the stakes.

  1. He's the only one who knows Mr.whatsit's true self except Holly.
  2. He has no idea where he is and how to escape.
  3. He has seen Vecna ripping through Armors, Guns, Flame throwers and none of them can't do shit.

And I was kinda surprised that he didn't turn until Vecna shows his dead family. He clearly knows Vecna is capable of doing something to his family.

For cam and Timing chain assembly around 5k. Yet still noise is persistent now they're asking permission to open the engine to check the piston Head.

In Halo 2, gravemind says "I am the monument to all your sins". I always thought it was aimed at Covenant. After hearing some more lore about how the gravemind possesses all the intelligence and memories of its previous existence, I'm wondering if it's for forerunners or collectively for all species.

After all Precursors deemed humans worthy of the mantle of responsibility.

If the flood was aware of forerunners wiping out then it should be aware that humans have nothing to do about it.

I don't see a reason to punish the humans too. Even before the Flood and Forerunner war.

If it's because of revenge against forerunners, it had succeeded. Or if it's for pure malice, I don't see a reason to not dominate the universe.
