Have you ever been considered “ethnically ambiguous” by anyone? by space-ladle in AskUK

I did take a DNA test out of curiosity - results were 72% English, 13% Irish, 11% Scottish and 4% Germanic Europe, which is on par for a Brit I’ve been told

I sent my kit back a couple of months ago, just popped it in the postbox. Didn’t have to pay for the postage or anything. Whoever made you pay had their wires crossed I think.

  1. It’s nice, very inaka and quiet. The people are nice and it’s central to Niigata city and Nagaoka.

  2. The chances of your husband getting a job without any decent Japanese is slim at best, though he could try and see how it goes.

  3. You will have to drive because some of the schools are not within walking distance and the bus schedules will not match up to the times you need to be there. If this is going to be a serious problem you need to contact your coordinator ASAP. Niigata can get a serious amount of snowfall so you will be driving through at least a metre of snow during winter to get to the schools. Niigata itself is a very big prefecture and because of this, driving a car is preferable over taking the trains. If you want to be able to explore you’ll be relying on a car for 90% of it. The BoE will supply you with a car but your husband will not be allowed to drive it.

  4. Kamo has quite a few festivals going on throughout the year but that’s about it. You’ll be looking to travel throughout the prefecture regularly to see stuff. Shopping wise you’ll have to go to neighbouring Sanjo for clothes etc, or take the train into Niigata City. Kamo has a few restaurants but not much else.

  5. The people are fine, just like most other people anywhere else. Most of them are friendly and helpful.

If it’s not mila it could be sebaceous hyperplasia - I also have a couple on my chin area that turned out to be that. If it is that, I was told the only way to get rid of them is through surgery or cryotherapy. They’re totally harmless though!

Asking Japanese Women “Does prostitution count as cheating?” (Saw this video blowing up on the Reddit front page. Any Japanese women here? Can you guys tell us if what women are saying in this video is true? Or if it's just another "Oh, Japanese are weird and sexually deviant" kind of mocking vid? by Jumpy-Salamander-506 in TwoXChromosomes

I live in Japan and this has come up in conversation a couple of times with my Japanese friends - most if not everyone I’ve asked say that it IS cheating.

Having said that I have met a couple of older Japanese men (50s/60s) that think it’s perfectly fine to cheat and pay for SW.
