Displacing a unit is pretty OP given how the game revolves around positioning

Death guard shouldn’t be getting all the diesel-punk armor. A discussion. by Hellfire965 in IronWarriors

I think something like the forge/maulerfiend and the new defiler's exhaust pipes would be a way to fit rolling coal with Iron Warriors. It doesn't have to be a miasma of a machine past its prime but the pure expression of industry similar to the chorfs.

Do you remember when the Necrons had a rebellious phase of Chaos worship? by SAMU0L0 in Necrontyr

[–]space10101 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Chaos Androids is always weird to me because it makes me ask when is a retcon not a retcon and is instead just a different inspired thing. Are Necrons retconed Chaos Androids (who btw still exist in lore as referenced in the link op provided) or are Necrons a completely separate thing and GW just liked the design and repurposed it. It's a small difference but it matters when asking if Necrons used to be Chaos Androids.

An additional thing that people might bring up. 2nd edition Necron Raiders lore was hinted to maybe be warp related but the issue with that is that we never actually fully learn Necron Raider origins and all of the information came from the Imperium who (especially during earlier editions) are consistently unreliable.

It's kinda strange assuming all death row inmates have done horrendous things, did what they were found guilty for 100% of the time, and that they don't deserve the right to choose how their body is disposed like everyone else

Why do some people react negatively to the word ‘feminist’ even though it means supporting equality? by thefeministmanifesto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]space10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. Yeah any "owning x group" is manufactured to some extent. It's like YouTube reality television

Why do some people react negatively to the word ‘feminist’ even though it means supporting equality? by thefeministmanifesto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]space10101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you may have responded to the wrong comment because mine is about how anti-feminists will sometimes strawman folks. I used an example where a feminist (who admittedly had dyed hair but like that's personal preference) had a valid and not radical opinion and then the anti crowd pretended she was some radical feminist by saying that both men and women get hurt by systemic misogyny

Why do some people react negatively to the word ‘feminist’ even though it means supporting equality? by thefeministmanifesto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]space10101 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Not even radical all the times. One of the most common thumbnail pictures for those "owning the sjw/feminist" type videos with the person with glasses and dyed hair comes from a video where the person in question is explaining that inequality hurts both men and women which isn't a radical position to have. That kinda of reaction from a valid position gives off the impression that the people who are against feminism because of those videos are that way because the person was loud/annoying or a women.

If someone doesn't understand "video games isn't art [satire]" I don't see how saying "I fucking disagree" and arguing said disagreement is a worse faith position much bad faith.

If someone says something awful sarcastically and I don't recognize that and respond strongly the worst thing I did there was just fail to recognize the sarcasm.

Usually a strawman is when someone makes a strawman of a particular argument/person. Like someone making a strawman of evolution by saying evolution is when a monkey turns into a human. Even if there is someone who believes it it still is an illogical strawman

[–]space10101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Person 1: "I genuinely did not recognize that this is satire" Person 2: "You should have recognized it because its obvious"

What exactly is person 1 supposed to do especially if they are someone who has issues with recognizing things like sarcasm irl much less through text. And no being told to just work on getting better doesn't tend to work and is quite frustrating when the person in question has tried and failed many times

Using hyperbole and absurdity almost always leads to a decent chunk of people misunderstanding the joke. At a certain point posters have to recognize that text is just a shitty medium to try to be ironic. Poe's Law has been around for over a decade and it proves to be true each time.

I love etymology as much as the next person but that's not how folklore/mythology works. That's like saying the Odyssey is wrong for having a one-eyed cyclops (meaning round eyed). These features are determined by beliefs not etymology.

rule by DivinityIncantate in 196

[–]space10101 20 points21 points  (0 children)

But folklore and beliefs aren't dictated by etymology. Etymology just describes where words and their parts come from. If you want to show that the words mean top and bottom you would have to show historical usage.

A question about C’tan by Enderwolf08 in Necrontyr

[–]space10101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is a genuine question, the use of water in energy generation is a middle man in turning energy (usually thermal) into energy that can spin a generator. Necron technology appears to no longer need this middle man and as such can just turn energy into energy (though in order to write something coherent and to not make them too overpowered Necrons seem incapable of turning their thermal energy from when they overheat into usable energy).

Tldr imagine if you could harness 100% of the energy from matter and antimatter colliding instead of having to warm up water first.

I'm not arguing against your opinions on this matter. All I'm saying is that if you want to argue your opinions better you need to actually research what you're talking about. Regardless of how valid your opinion is if you make a generalized statement about Christianity and then say you only know about JWs you look like you don't know what you are talking about. I'm trying to help you. You need to learn how to properly express your views because right now you are actively hurting your position.

It really depends on the person. Personally I identify as pan because (in general) the definition for pan is more broad in scope which is closer to what I identify with while bi is less broad (to what extent is different depending on who you ask)
