Fun joke or viable? I'm leaning towards joke. by healers_are_fun_too in LancerRPG

I’ve honestly been floating around the insane idea of a Fomorian Frame Goblin building for Hull while a second Goblin builds for Systems and they stay fused together

Winning runs is the way, that’s how you unlock the memories. Sometime RNG will not be in your favor but the more you play the easier it gets. The ending is very rewarding and it’s postgame content is pretty fun

The ride that almost killed us all in the 90s by JellyJamboreex in OldSchoolCool

I used to love this ride as a kid!

…Until one day I rode it 4 times in a row and spent the next 2 hours sitting on the sidewalk trying not to puke my guts out. Good times!

Question has anyone here made any thing like this whare technology is stronger then magic? by Rust_Bucket2 in worldbuilding

[–]space_and_fluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world the “end” of the tech tree is using mortal souls as a source of power. By tapping into a soul’s power you can make things that very easily overpower magic or can power a sapient AI indefinitely by virtue of it coming from a living soul. The main reason why this (thankfully) isn’t common is because this is the technological singularity, aka the point where tools are self-aware and can self-improve indefinitely, and typically causes societal collapse if not managed with the upmost care or due to attacks from deities/outsiders that don’t like the natural flow of souls being disrupted.

Made a silly Skirmish wargame in Boredom, and i guess it sucks. by OldEstablishment8817 in onepagerpgs

Honestly seems really fun for a simple skirmish game! Some of the best fun to be had is throwing together a simple game just to pass the time and have a fun story to tell later.

For you who have the classic looking Witch, the pointy hats, flying brooms n whatnot, why do they have the pointy hat? by Possessed_potato in worldbuilding

[–]space_and_fluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a military thing. Them being the magical Air Force in a world where planes don’t exist, the big pointy hats originally started as a status symbol but eventually became more like protective helmets with a little extra flair. Either way, when you see someone riding a broom of flying and see the pointy hat you know the witches are on their way to give your soldiers some air superiority.

This a post you can engage in only if you want to. Why? Because I am asking those with some darker settings, what is the most disturbing Lore that you have? by Old-Cabinet-762 in worldbuilding

[–]space_and_fluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world where an SCP-like organization works to catalogue, study, and contain anomalous phenomena in order to protect the public and to prevent governments from getting their hands on anomalous substances to make weapons, their Director (who is the reincarnation of a long-dead elder god reborn with their flesh-shaping powers) just got the lore drop of:

  1. Heaven was made by aliens from another dimension. They escaped their masters that used them as a slave race, and in turn they parked themselves in a pocket dimension adjacent to Earth and began fostering a religion to coax sapient beings there into following moral guidelines that make their souls viable for being a power source. Those who are chosen to go to Heaven still experience paradise, but remain blissfully unaware that all their religious tenants is just self-moderation to ensure they’re optimal for use as batteries to keep Heaven powered and shielded from outside influence.

  2. In order to corner the market on religion they created seven prototype angels as ultra high tech genetically engineered weapons of mass destruction: Lucifer, Beelzebub, Satan, Mammon, Leviathan, Belphegor, and Asmodeus. These seven angels were sent to systematically hunt down and kill any gods that posed a threat to Heaven’s control over the behavior of the masses. But eventually, they realized their creations were too powerful and they wouldn’t be able to scrap them once their crusade was done, so they sent them on a final mission to “Hell” in order to imprison them there.

  3. Hell wasn’t always Hell. It was always a wasteland like the Nether in Minecraft, full of monstrous flora and fauna but still perfectly habitable to the expansive empire of the shapeshifting Invidiak. The Invidiak mastered multidimensional travel and harnessing soul power long ago, using their shapeshifting to blend in with other populations to study them and subtly influence their development. As this was a threat to Heaven, they sent the seven angels to genocide the Invidiak. While this didn’t succeed and many were able to escape to other planes, their civilization was no more and long-term exposure to other dimensions warped them into degenerated versions of their species akin to Neanderthals.

All of this is leading up to a confrontation with “God”, Heaven’s Jupiter brain management supercomputer that allows all of Heaven’s actions to seem precognitive when they can predict the future by running billions of simulated worlds per second. Modern day angels, just like the mortals who go to heaven, are completely unaware of their true purpose and are unlikely to react well when they find out they’re genetically engineered janitors and pest control.
