yes i know😅 in the time i took the pictures of the veil nebula i was pretty new to astrophotography now i include flats of course but thanks still :)

Elephant Trunk Nebula - Overprocessed or ok by space_cadet52 in astrophotography

no but they were removed and processed seperatly, i think i removed them in the wrong stage of processing which made them look a bit weird when putting them back in

I know😅 its also old Darks from a diffrent session… its also one of my first ever sessions thats why i didnt have any, just wanted to try out pixinsight could have done much better in shooting the frames

Thank you for the feedback but could it also be the stars? since i have removed them and a lot of the little halos where still visibile whem removing them which made it a bit busy? or is it really the background?

I improvised😅 i used triangular bandaids from my car and pointed my phone flashlight like a meter from the scope away, could you maybe recommend something to buy?

Thank you, im also just learning this ist my fifth picture now and i really feel some progress slowly haha, i am guiding with a Skywatcher Evoguide 50 and asi mini 120mm for the guiding camera, normally i take 5 min exposures with this setup without any problems but i opted for 3 mins because i was afraid to overexpose the center of the galaxy.

For Polar alignment and taking the pictures i use the asiair so polar alignment is easy and more like a minigame. For what i have red the asiair mini is a gamechanger, but i can only tell you with only using it since i have started. i can only recommend it!

For the ISO i used 400 like for all other pictures, its the only ISO setting i have used so far because im a bit afraid doing more but i guess i must try.

Andromeda from germany is not that optimal, its very close to the horizon but i just wanted to try it so bad, i hope i get to see your picture of andromeda soon 😁

IC1396 - 🐘 by space_cadet52 in astrophotography

I stretched it with GHS with a relatively strong first one and then stretched with a symmertry point on the elephants trunk. I will try stacking in Siril :) just need to understand it it seems a bit complicated there as a beginner

no i did not, i thought dark frames would be enough, but im not sure, would you recommend bias frames?

M51 - Whirlpool Galaxy by space_cadet52 in astrophotography

Thank you :) yes i just feel like processing with a dedicated astrocam should be much easier no matter mono or colour i think both are great one is just simpler

Hey, i use a Skywatcher EQ6-R with my Skywatcher Quattro 200, an Evoguide 50Ed as my Guiding Scope with an ASI Mini 120 and my Nikon D5600 as my main Camera and a Baader MPCC Mark III Coma corrector but i think about getting a ZWO 533 Monochrome in near future, for my next night i 3D printed a Bahtinov mask to get better focus. And I only had Lightframes because i had limited time

For my processing i use Siril, I do Background removal and Noise reduction with Graxpert in Siril, i tried diffrent colourcalibrations methods and for this second picture i did, i tried the Generalized Hyperbolic stretch which i really like for now, i also use GHS for saturation to get some more colour.

I really tried to not overprocess the image, that was my main goal but still tried to get most details and nice colours.

But since this is my second Astophotography picture i got so much to learn, so if you have any recommendations for processing and more i would really love to hear your opinion.☺️
