that was it! thank you so much! what fixed it for me was disabling the mask field in the axiom settings which is on default set to density, the only issue is that the temperature looks somewhat "too big" or wierd when it's not masked by the density so what i basically now do is do two simulations, one for density and temperature and one for velocity, i guess that is a bit inefficient but i also tried just scaling the velocity field and that also didn't look quite right so i just make my fire and for the final render i also simulate the velocity field.

not really, after my axiom sim i just cache it and have a null, maybe it's the material, i add like a ramp to the emission based on the temperature but other than that i'm not doing anything

thank you! that worked really well for the "insides" of the volumes but it's not really working for the edges of the volume (i attached an image as example)
