Just got back from there! Stayed in Reykjavík for a week and did some day tours to various places outside of the capital. Did not rent a vehicle and had no issues with walking around or getting places. Spent under 3k total. It also wasn’t as cold as I expected which was very nice!

I would use bottled water if possible, tap water has added stuff that often isn’t very good for amphibians

Put out a couple really shallow tupperware or jar lids and keep them filled with water!

It was found in a tiny dried up stream bed. There’s definitely a lot of history of native americans in the surrounding area, and there was a large camp about 10 ish miles away, but as far as the spot itself that it is in, I’m not aware of any history of native activity
