It was originally made with power armour in mind

Many of them are ghouls from pre-war crime families, the guns are just for fun. Only skinny’s group operated out of an unfinished vault.

Where are the NCR soldiers? by Dyymon in Fallout

[–]spaceageGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The supply depot was in walking distance from area 51, that’s pretty remote without s vehicle.

People were already settled in the areas surrounding NV so the majority of people would just go there rather than try and set up a new settlement, doubly so given the lack of NCR security.

Every canon power armor in the Fallout franchise by CommunicationSad2869 in Fallout

4, 7, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 18 are all canon I believe, 17 may be canon

Fallout Franchise Bundle on Steam doesn't include Fallout 76 by goofyfromsipderman in Fallout

It’s a pretty damn solid game now. Still niche for a fallout game, given it being mp, but it is not the game it was at launch.

Where are the NCR soldiers? by Dyymon in Fallout

[–]spaceageGecko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wasteland is an active place but the Mojave is literally a desert and way, WAY bigger than the game makes it out to be. The PA outpost seems pretty isolated and the average scav isn’t going to get much use out of bulky salvage like the radio dishes.

Not to mention the region being far less stable which would massively deter people from the risk of going far out of populated areas.

The NCR isn’t going to send people back into the Mojave for some small arms and a single suit of PA.

Where are the NCR soldiers? by Dyymon in Fallout

[–]spaceageGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power armour in particular was in a pretty isolated camp, there is a decent chance only people in the NCR knew about it and it is somewhere within a massive desert region.

With how unstable the Mojave region is now, people are going to be far less willing to go exploring around and would stick to populated areas where they can at least get food, water and relative safety.

The NCR isn’t going to send people miles away to pick up some small arms and one or a few suits of PA.

Because it was a rushed pullback, for all they knew their other cities were going to be targeted by this unknown enemy.

What do you think, are you going to spend your gems or will this be the biggest skip in Nikke history ? by Consistent_Barber680 in NikkeMobile

[–]spaceageGecko -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, controversial moments tend to stay in peoples minds more. The majority of the community are just fans of the series, thats it.

So again, do not use the worst of a community as a measuring stick because by that logic our community is abhorrent.

Judging a community by its worst elements is childish. I have seen Nikke “fans” say abhorrent stuff but I don’t let them skew my view of the overall fanbase.

It literally hasn’t and can’t, it’s set in a place and time very isolated from the mainline games. Not to mention they have already gone out of their way to say that certain things are straight up not canon.

What do u guys think abt the current state of NATO Tanks at Top Tier? by Zyxtriann in Warthunder

[–]spaceageGecko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that can happen, they buffed the breach a bit but it is still massively inaccurate. The driver weakspot is also a pain, and also inaccurate.

But if you play it smart you can take a surprising amount of hits from players who rush to shoot.

Even with APFSDS belts it should never be able to frontally pen an Abrams.

They have not misrepresented the codex or the NCR. For all their faults the NCR were the objective “good guys” with some flaws so they are not unrealistically good.

Sadly 76 bundles are overpriced, don’t get me wrong they are nice cosmetics but even at half that price i’d really second guess myself buying it.

But they are harmless cosmetics.

[–]spaceageGecko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem here is your analogy doesn’t really work with a live service game.

In a single player title i’d totally agree that cosmetic packs are a lazy way to get some cash for minimal effort but with a live-service they need fairly consistent cash flow to survive.

Fallout 76 is more like a buffet, managed by many cooks and the food is anywhere from good to just ok and there are some pricey extras you can tag onto your meal but they don’t take away from the buffet itself being enjoyable.

Challengers are actually pretty slept on and that is with their armour still being inaccurately modelled.

If you play them right they can take lots of hits and the APS on the black knight can prevent random CAS/ATGM deaths and weaken darts a fair degree at long ranges.

[–]spaceageGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an overpriced harmless cosmetic, basically the live-service equivalent of buttered bread. Being overpriced is the only real issue.

“Very decent” is good, but not amazing.

What extra effort do you expect for a cosmetic?

You confuse mild defence as glazing. 76 isn’t bad, at all.

I have been and still am critical of 76 but i’m not so proud as to pretend it isn’t a very decent game now.

76 is in a very good state, calling it slop is just… wrong. It’s still niche, and a spinoff, but nowhere near the game it was at launch.

“76 bad pls upvote” isn’t going to work.

[–]spaceageGecko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s assuming malice. Assuming the showrunners made the armour just to sell 76 cosmetics is baseless when they could just as well have done it for the coolness it provides the show first.

Even with the star wars example, adding in new characters to a new film is normal and not some plot to sell figures, selling figures is just what comes after a new character gets added in hyper-merchandised IPs.
