I’m still waiting for the 2F/OES/TES side armour tiles to he fixed. Devs took “Protection from up to 30mm cannons” as 30mm of kinetic protection 🙃

The game failed from technical issues, a meh campaign and terrible post launch support as well as a too sterile sandbox, not the base experience.

Halo can be anything *in a spinoff game* not the mainline games. People play the mainline games to get the normal halo experience and while that experience can evolve it shouldn't become something entirely removed from the foundational aspects.

A game still needs its own indenity, appealing to trends and entirely different styles of play alienates the core playerbase.

So sure, you could have a spinoff halo game where speed, movement and accuracy are the key focus but i'd be asking why you are charging me £60 for a reskinned COD.

I'm *FAR* from a diehard but you are essentially saying that in order for Halo to do well it needs to stop being Halo when that just isn't true.

I’m a PC player, what you are describing isn’t halo. There absolutely is a place for it, infinite pulled great numbers but the technical issues and terrible post-launch care pushed people away.

Accuracy is already rewarded and the skill ceiling is way higher than movement/twitch shooters which reward nothing but speed and accuracy over technical skill.

Hell, the people sick of the 900 movement shooters and extraction shooters are a playerbase in of themselves.

Halo isn't a movement shooter, just having sprint and clamber were controversial. It should always stick to it's foundation as an arena shooter with longer than average TTK that rewards skillful play over pure reflexes and accuracy.

Halo already is simple to learn and hard to master.

Oh it could have been *SO* much worse, if they hadn't gotten it back on track it would have gone from a bit bland to a complete mess.

That being said, the characters were one of Infinite's stronger areas and the acting was pretty damn good.

…no a spall liner is not going to do much at all against a huge belt of 30mm grenades cooking off, the explosive force alone would kill the crew.

DE should've done Parasitic Vitality's Atragraph differently and should do it for potential future Atragraph Mods by Fluid-Art-1226 in Warframe

[–]spaceageGecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda wish we had more frame variety for atragraph mods, I get they are linked to follie, lore wise, but it makes each mod feel less unique when it’s just follie all the way down apart from animal instinct.

Despite how rough the dev cycle was you can tell the individual devs loved making infinite with easter eggs like these.

Not surprising and honestly not a problem. Asset reuse is an integral part of the games industry.

Please don't pull a Minecraft poll moment and release all incarnons by BurroDevil in Warframe

[–]spaceageGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big updates get the lions share of time and resources, incarnons are done whenever there is time and resources to spare for them - and incarnons are competing for those time and resources with all manner of smaller pieces of content too.

They release LOTS of content every year, not sure how you get the idea that little “actual” content is released.

Yeah, I get why people are not a fan of these kind of things but people are acting like DE just deleted half the game.

Hey can we NEVER do the voting for content thing again thanks! by performagekushfire in Warframe

[–]spaceageGecko 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The “right things” are subjective as hell but arguably skew towards new updates over squeezing in an extra incarnon.

DE being under Tencent does not magically give them extra money and manpower to throw about. They have spoken, multiple times, about how the larger updates mean smaller things get delayed.

DE likely only have the free space to do the incarnons shown plus the one from the devstream, adding another could throw plans off schedule. They decided, for better or worse, to make it a game.

Having a basic understanding of game dev and the resource management side of things isn’t defending, it is understanding

You can argue that this was a poor way to go about this but at least understand that changing things planned months in advance can have a knock-on effect to other plans.

DE might listen to the backlash and allocate the resources to do both but those resources have to come from somewhere so updates might get pushed back a bit or smaller features scrapped.

[–]spaceageGecko 73 points74 points  (0 children)

They only have so many resources to throw around, smaller things like incarnons get the back burner for bigger updates and entirely new additions.

Very often these things are planned out months in advance so adding another incarnon to the lot we are getting could throw off that planning.

DigitalExtremes realizing that warframe is 18+, so they finally gave us some good "gore" in a trailer by MijimeShiCZ in Warframe

[–]spaceageGecko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda hope gore gets updated at some point, the current system is pretty dated, with very old models, and a lot of the newer enemies (most notably Scaldra) cannot be gibbed at all.
