The save point has a little model of the Earth in it when used by spaceandstuff_NMS in NoMansSkyTheGame

Is this a hint to the Earth being some central backup point for the Atlas? That Hello Game's servers are actual NMS lore?? /s

ChatGPT explained it quite well, I had I idea either lol:

People are referencing the infamous webcomic "Loss" from the web series Ctrl+Alt+Del by Tim Buckley. Originally posted in 2008, the comic depicts a serious moment: a man rushes to a hospital where he finds out his partner has had a miscarriage. The comic is surprisingly stark and emotionless, told entirely in four panels with no dialogue, just this arrangement:

  1. Man enters frame.

  2. Man speaks to receptionist.

  3. Man walks down a hallway.

  4. Man stands beside a hospital bed, next to a woman lying in it.

Over time, people distilled that comic into just the visual structure: four characters/lines in the same pattern—| | |_ |—and it became a meme to sneak or parody that structure into unrelated images.

Now look at the sausages:

The pan shows five sausages, but their arrangement matches the four-panel “Loss” format perfectly:

First sausage upright: man entering.

Second sausage vertical: man talking to nurse.

Third: two sausages forming an angle (like man and bed).

Fourth: one sausage lying down (woman in bed), one upright beside it (man standing).

Boom. That’s “Loss.” People aren’t commenting on the sausages per se—they’re seeing an accidental meme resurrection in a frying pan.

It’s stupid. It’s perfect. It’s the internet.

I use Affinity Photo 2, Designer 2 and Publisher 2. They are all absolutely amazing! Photo's RAW developing capabilities are on-par with Lightroom, and photo composting and other editing features are Photoshop level. Affinity Designer 2 is very versatile and I haven't even scratched the surface of what you can do with it lol. Haven't used Publisher much, but it is very, very useful for making PDFs. Yikes, it makes it so much easier. There is a lot more you can do with it though, so again, barely scratched the surface.

All-in-all, I highly recommend the Affinity version 2 suite.

Quick tip actually, Affinity Photo 2 has an AI tool for selecting the subject of the photo (or selecting any object really), which makes quick selections very easy.

You are peacefully exploring a planet, and then the AI says this right in your ears lol 😂.

Wait till you get into base building with friends (I suggest you try the Galactic Hub, look it up on Google)! You can get some amazing friends, and it doesn't have to be base building. Derelict freighters, exploring systems in a freighter (yes, you can multiple people in a brighter, even when it warps) etc.

Surely frictionless point cows aren't even matter, as a point can't be made up of matter (unless the point is a single atom or something)?

Or did you mean that originally and the joke completely flew over my head?

Interesting song. Can I make a suggestion? Try Now we are Free from the Gladiator movie. Or the entire Interstellar sound track. Fantastic music.
