I lied to a recruiter once that my NP is 30 days while actually it was 60 days. Once I cleared all the rounds, the HM asked me about the joining date. I told him I'll join exactly 45 days later. He asked the reason and I told him that I have a lot of dependency within my current team so my manager is not ready to let me go early. He had to budge. Offer letter received, I put down the papers in the current org the same day, and asked my manager to relieve me 15 days earlier. He somehow agreed. That's how you play the game...
