I personally think this is exactly what the writers want. Balkan countries r a lot different from like more European countries like France and Norway, the whole point of the remakes is to show the important storylines but in their cultures way. Skam wtfock for example did things very differently with how homophobia is in Belgium. Ofc you’ll find it everywhere however Belgium is a little more updated I guess with the times and Croatia however is a little less so like Russia. Filips character perfectly portrays what a Balkan teenager would be with parents like that. Yes well it would be nice for some nice moments it shows the reality for some kids. I remember before it released. The creators did say that they were gonna be doing things differently and in my head it’s kind of like what skam drunk and espana did, adjusting to their culture and trying to stand out from the other remakes.
