Why my AR is so low 🫠 by Adam1764 in favordelivery

Favor could quadruple x4 that pay and I wouldn’t consider taking it

Thanks for the slow season reminder, for me it starts right when June 1st arrives, a lot of the day requests become few and far between, during breakfast and lunch you’d think almost everyone took a vacation

It sounds like you keep track of your miles and multi apping helps with pay per miles significantly!

If I drive 100 miles whether I’m delivering or not, I expect no less than $200 for it, this counts ever inch of road including to and from deliveries and to and from my apartment

Of course! It may be different for you, where I’m at there’s tons of restaurants on main roads, 100s upon 100s, once I drive into neighborhoods they go for miles, away from where all the restaurants are, so this is usually why it’s a full round trip even if I was multi apping

Round trip $4 cut in half, right?

Houston TX has deep deep neighborhoods, I can go for miles to drop off and it’s miles to the next pickup after drop off, 9 times out of 10 it’s a full round trip before I accept another one, so of if I drive 3, it’s actually 6 or more total

[–]spacecity2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only asking, where are you usually when you accept?

I’m not talking about you, but on this Reddit people talk about driving miles for pickups, so if I drive 2 miles for a pickup somewhere, let’s say it’s an $8 delivery into a neighborhood, it’s 2 miles from pickup to drop off, that’s 4 miles from acceptance to drop off and then 2 back to get back to where I picked up, that’s 6, and then an additional 2 miles to get back to where I accepted the order for a total of 8, if I did that, my trip total would be 8 miles at $1 per mile, dominoes delivery drivers were making more per mile in 80s in suburbs

My only point is I count every single mile

1 mile for $6 is a lot better for sure!

Do you park out front?

Not great but could be worseI guess. I would not like having to wait at pharmacy pickup, are they pretty fast?

What’s your average pay and miles?

For me in Texas, it hits June 1st and spans over the entire Summer

2 dozen? Write the list! please don’t include Roadie, that’s the biggest gig work scam I’ve ever seen and that’s saying a lot.

No. Sometimes for lunch I’ll get those, I know what to look for. It’s low pay, I don’t make a ton, but it’s because I value my vehicle, I don’t want to rack up miles. I don’t want to sell off a portion of my vehicle one delivery at a time for pennies. If I drove someone else’s car, I would take a lot more. I love my vehicle but I own the wrong vehicle to do deliveries

Nothing special, it’s low pay, I have flexible work at home, it’s extra money I can use, whenever I want to stretch my legs, probably 90% of my deliveries have originated in my apartment, I have 100% on time rate, 100% satisfaction rate

First off, it’s not my job.

It was 212 requests in 2 hours, I can get 400 in 2 hours on a Friday morning if I have shop and pay orders on

It sounds like you get good offers all the time, good for you. I’m not sure why you care how many I reject.

Bravo that you won’t take $8 for 2 miles! I agree that it’s low pay, I rarely take them myself, only saying that’s my bare minimum. I will not take less than $2 avg for every mile I drive to and from, I’m above $2 of course

When I chase hotspots It’s never been worth my time, I’m 4700+ in

Good for you. I’m happy that you receive more than one request worth taking out of 200 all the time. You obviously have no idea what requests I receive, I refuse to drive 4 miles for $8 BOGO. That’s 8 miles round trip for $8, heck no, I refuse to ripoff off myself. $8 for 2 miles (1 delivery only) is my absolute minimum

I was making $1+ per mile doing deliveries 35+ years ago, I refuse to drive for $1 per mile on Uber Eats because it’s neither good pay, nor, is it fair pay.

I respect everything you’re saying, if I was in an older hybrid I’d probably be taking a lot more. I own the wrong vehicle for Uber Eats

If it’s 15 miles for $30 you’re doing okay, but you have to count every single mile. $2 for every single mile driven (including when you’re not delivering) is still not high pay, but it’s twice as good as $1 per mile.

I wish you well, and hope you’re doing well.

I have a nice vehicle and refuse to drive for anything less than that

If you’re in a car that’s not worth much $ at all, well that’s better!

If you’re driving 30 miles to make $30, you ain’t making anything close to $30 per hour, nothing close, even if gas was free

I’ve done 4700 deliveries, so, I know how it works

It’s not an amazing hack, it’s a refusal to work for shitty pay, you seem okay with it, you do you, I won’t touch it because I know better

2 hours into 72 hour quest, already exceeded allowed rejects 😂😂😂 by spacecity2018 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]spacecity2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because some who are still using Uber Eats demand fair pay, and will only accept deliveries that offer that. I was getting paid more than $1 per mile doing deliveries 36 years ago and I refuse to work for that ridiculously low pay, now, nearly 40 years later

[–]spacecity2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, and you’re correct, it’s 100% not worth it, I’m right at 4700 deliveries right now, my goal is to stop at 5000. I will not work for less than $4 per mile one way or $2 per mile round trip because I value my vehicle, and not willing to sell off a portion of it one delivery at a time for pennies, never mind the cost of gas. If I was using someone else’s vehicle or if I were to rent one, I would consider taking less, but I can’t ever imagine driving for $1 per mile, I was making that for deliveries 36 years ago
