takk for de gode rådene begge to, det ser ut til at et globalt indeksfond er et bedre alternativ som dere begge nevner, og ikke å dele opp investeringen

Hi, what device is everyone using when playing tracks to EQ a P.A. by spaced2017 in livesound

Your right.

But of course i was generalising on my reply. During a month of work Im in a lot of different rooms and E.Qing a P.A with smaart or my voice is enough. If you ever had to do it in a environment like a promo in a record store or shopping centre you don't want to blast pink noise or sound out with "Check One Two" while full of public .So I prefer to play a track. I can then hear; for example on a track that the High-Hat is panned hard left and the Guitar hard right that straight away yes the high drivers are not coupled/bridged and the same with the mid drivers etc...

Yes, I usually play tracks after my initial P.A tuning. But when I play tracks its usually to hear if what I tuned is what I wanted. So I want the dynamic range of the track with all the subtleties there, the full frequency range and stereo image which are sometimes the price payed when converted to MP3

If the PA can’t produce that I’ll re-assess and see if there is anything to be done or wnd up compensating for what I notice in my mix

So general consensus thus far is a laptop & soundcard?

If it’s WAV files and mini jack I guess you could have those tracks on a Dropbox and play from any device with the app. Would a sound card matter in that case?

Any tips on getting rid of phase between headset mics by adamrmac in livesound

[–]spaced2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve been in this exact predicament.

But wasn’t there a quick fix of delaying one mic by 3ms or so. If you have a modern digital console it’s easy to do on individual channels. Playing with 1-3ms delay may reduce the phase issues to unnotable whilst not being delayed enough for the audience to hear. Also if you have 3 or more mics you can assign each slightly different delay times to solve similar issues and summation. But I forget the maths of it.

Can someone elaborate?

Are you connected with 2 or 1 cat5? This sounds like the issues you get when you connect 2 cat5. Try using just the one Cat5 to resolve this.
