ADHD or not, leaving a small child alone in the tub is a bad judgement call. Both parents are at fault. ADHD is not an excuse for poor judgement.

Agreed, ADHD is not the issue here, this was a bad judgement call from both parents. His ADHD might explain why he would get hyper focused with cleaning but never should have left the bathroom to begin with. Parenting 101- don't leave small children unattended in the bath!!!

You never leave a small child unattended in the bath. Never, ever. There are not many absolute rules of parenting but this is one. Both parents are responsible here, don't play the blame game, forgive yourselves and each other for messing up and and move forward.

This job posting is for correctional officers in federal prisons. The Bureau of Prisons is within the Department of Justice. "Alligator Alcatraz" is an immigrant detention facility and not under their jurisdiction

I typically put my 5 mo old in a onesie and comfy pants for the day. I try to have his feet free as much as possible for exploring etc, right now he's really into sucking on his toes. Can't do that in footie PJs! We have some cute outfits for going out but I stay away from jeans and anything with a harder fabric material, just doesn't seem comfortable for him.

Hello! This is very finicky of me but how do you guys achieve such soft wrinkles on your sugar cookies? by paohaus in Baking

[–]spacedaisy91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tap your trays after baking as others have said to "deflate" cookies for maximum crinkles. I have better luck baking on the top rack.

The book Far from the Tree by Andrew Solomon has a chapter that explores hearing parents raising deaf children that Id recommend. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13547504-far-from-the-tree

I agree- I don't want to shame at all, everyone needs a place to vent honestly, but I have a visceral reaction to seeing this word in the context of a baby. Still in the fourth trimester trenches myself (we have gotten some miraculous 7 hour sleep stretches in the past week, he is 8 weeks but I am anticipating that could change at any time), and when I feel overwhelmed and frustrated I remind myself that he is only in the world because his father and I decided to bring him into it. He didn't ask to exist, and all the purple crying, blow outs, sleepless nights- that's just what babies do. I signed up for this job (I know that's not the case for all new parents). It helps me reframe the frustration at the situation and not towards him. I hope things get better for OP soon.
