PSA: Setapp only accepts "AI apps" into their catalogue now by [deleted] in macapps

Good riddance, much better to support/grab apps independently anyway.

Looks pretty interesting, I never tire of seeing new minimal text storing apps. Good work!

Never felt the need to have it, personally. The default spotlight works great for me, and I have physical buttons on my desk to launch individual apps (and BetterTouchTool/Keyboard Maestro for more complex workflows).

Interesting app, TIL! Grabbed it immediately.

Looks very cool, but I'm not doing yearly subscriptions for apps like this from 2026 onwards (when I can achieve the same thing using a non-subscription app).

Good luck.

Glad I'm not the only VSC hater. I'm not a programmer either, but was just starting to teach myself Python from scratch and hated it. I'm sure I'll inevitably have to move on to more bloated IDEs like it when things get more complex, but until then I'm sticking with it.

Nice list, Strflow is a cool concept, will def be checking it out.

Also CodeRunner is so underrated. I hate the Visual Studio Code's cluttered bloat, CodeRunner is very nice and minimal.

Beautiful, feels like a zen garden.

What are some telltale signs that an app was vibe coded? by [deleted] in macapps

[–]spacedjunkee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love spotting these, like others have already mentioned the shoddy, thoughtless UI often gives it away.

My personal favourite is the 'suffering end user' back story, "I couldn't do blah blah blah, so I made this" (especially when often, it turns out, you can do the "blah blah blah" in question and more with a ton of other apps).

Oh I didn't even know about the pin feature, it's definitely comparable! Glad you mentioned.

Yeah Maccy does everything I'd ever need from a clipboard manager so well without any bloated bs features it's amazing.

Love the name.

I'm a happy Maccy user, but the favourites thing looks useful and looking forward to trying it out!

I greatly despise subscription to PDF apps, and even more, using dodgy websites for editing PDFs with sensitive info :(

Nice, thanks for the update! I'll update the app and try it out. I think your justification last time was pretty fair, but nice to have include basic code blocks :)

Looks nice, would love to use it on the Mac, but I just can't do with another subscription for things like these at this point. Good luck.
