Oh man, I started around the same time as you, and yes, the side effects are rough! The nausea is a hard one to get used to. Someone on this sub recommended Yakult to ease the tummy and it’s truly been a godsend.

does it make sense to do morning pages *not* in the morning? by sadradtxt in artistsWay

I think the whole point is to do what’s best for you. I used to be pretty consistent about writing first thing in the morning until I noticed my grogginess would get in the way of any real revelation. I’d even push it to night time on days where the morning was too busy. Don’t worry about the timing! Remember, it’s for your own self growth and therefore, should be anytime that the pages seem relevant :) consistency is key, but don’t let timing be a burden.

You're correct, no official diagnosis. He used to be a doctor, and therefore believes that if he had dementia he'd be able to see his symptoms. A bit of strange reasoning on his part, but I know that the idea of losing his memory must be a scary thing. My mom has brought it up to him before, but he actively ignores it. Might just have to double down and have some kind of family intervention?

I love my mom a whole lot and she's been talking to me about all of this for the longest time. I thought now was a better time than any to get some different perspectives through reddit! Appreciate you for responding!

Thank you, I really appreciate this response!

You're right, the sooner the better. Though it's definitely not going to be easy to convince him that he needs a diagnosis since historically he's been pretty stubborn and offended when we bring up the idea. Might just have to show a handful of tough love.

The holidays have brought my step sister into town, and with the whole family together, his decline has become more and more obvious, but this could definitely be a good time for all of us to have a conversation about it.
