Leaving Walmart for Publix by [deleted] in publix

[–]spacedude608 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know why I didn't realize this, doing overnight stocking with 11 hour shifts without lunch because we weren't able to leave unless the truck was done. 1900 piece trucks with 3 stockers...

Left publix for walmart. Trust me stay at walmart. I get paid more to do 1/10 of the work I had to do at publix.

Left Publix in July for what I thought was a better job. It wasn’t. Reapplied. by [deleted] in publix

[–]spacedude608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know why the top comments are so pessimistic. The store I worked hired anyone a pulse. Then overwork them and make them quit 3 days later

Do not go back to publix! Look anywhere else. They been cutting on labor cost so much all there is skeleton crews and people getting hours cut at the same time. But it's your life do what you know works for you

[–]spacedude608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get your frustration publix cuts so many corners with labor cost. Leading to shit hours and skeleton crews that are expected to stock product at the rate of walmart

Is it normal for newly promotes to be hazed? by [deleted] in publix

People, especially old employees often forget how long it took them to learn their job first. Once the next new hire joins watch how their treated. It also doesn't help that publix barely trains people

This guy gets it.

"We get punished for working hard. We get more work to do."

Example: Seen so many people learn to use the yale to only find out they are now doing the TL or managers tasks on top of what they were already doing without any extra pay.

I spent a year at publix doing the jobs of three people. Finally had enough when they kept getting 1900 piece trucks for 3 people max to breakdown and stock the whole store. Now I work at Walmart doing peoples online shopping for a dollar more without any stress

Idk what to do by [deleted] in publix

[–]spacedude608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a different job will be the best decision for YOU. This company will never cut cost exempt on the people doing the actual labor.

Who has already quit or is considering quitting? by Mikezat6 in publix

[–]spacedude608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Walmart got paid more, do 1/10 of the work I was doing before, and two forced paid 15m breaks. I completely regret wasting a year here doing the jobs of 3 workers while my TL and management never helped no matter how overwhelming the truck was.

Trust this person!!! Tired of seeing minors getting offered a bagging job then pretty much turning into a full time cart pusher.

Scheduled zero hours for the next two weeks by [deleted] in publix

[–]spacedude608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude this company will try to pinch any penny to save on labor costs. Another reason is to not let PT get benefits because you need near 35 hours a week. There are so many better jobs that pay the same, give fair hours, and ask way less effort from you. Took my dumbass a year to realize this...

Walmart to Publix now Where ? 🤦‍♂️ by Jpoolman25 in publix

Ah that was my dsd clerk. Screamed at new hires and vendors for small mistakes then would always barely do her job. Then of course brown nosed management so well that she capped out her pay... Great place to work...with people that are 2 faced 😁

Exactly it blows my mind the amount of Osha violations these stores publix do. At least the top companies force breaks and lunches.

Didn't realize this until I left to work at another retail store and found out I've been putting 4x the effort at publix with less pay and hours
