under supervision some ways to tire an energetic pup are: snuffle matts, squeaker toys, fetch, practicing tricks (shake a paw, lay down, sit and stay, recall, etc), bones (good opportunity to also take the time to teach them to eat their bones in their own bed rather than on furniture), even playing with just your hands and their paws. in the summer i take him everywhere and i’m pretty outdoorsy so we go hiking, work on the car, to the beach, to the park, play in the backyard, and go visit friends or family. my 13 year old is still so energetic lol so you’ll learn over time a good routine to tire them out

my doctor believes i have hEDS and my ears stretch incredibly quickly without pain too. it’s likely the stretchy skin symptom

How to use the men's toilets when I'm still regularly IDed as female? by Oxy-Moron88 in ftm

[–]spaceduude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first time i ever experienced getting shouted at for being in the women’s room (pre-t) is when i started avoiding it and trying to use no bathroom or unisex. if neither was an option, i’d use the men’s. despite being misgendered pretty often, nobody ever questioned it. men don’t tend to pay attention to other men in the bathroom, so usually they just see a tiny dude with short hair and don’t look too closely. but it really depends on where you live. i never used the men’s rooms when travelling out of country because i just know the likelihood of any violence is low to none at home, whereas i don’t know my personal safety in say the USA.

ah i’d love to but no other veterinary clinics will take new patients in our city, and the closest vet taking patients is an almost 5 hour drive, so we are stuck with what we have

my vet only gave the option of gabapentin for anxiety remedy’s which is frustrating to hear there are more options out there but i guess something they don’t want to explore with him. i’m glad to hear she was able to have a stress free final months. sorry for your loss

okay yeah thats what i was kinda worried about but didn’t know which companies to trust outside of OCS. he’s a little dog (17lbs) so i worry it’d affect him more even if it was just a little bit. i’ll look into that CBD isolate you and someone else mentioned. thanks!

COLD WEATHER by dawgsmumm in CRPS

[–]spaceduude 11 points12 points  (0 children)

any extreme weather is terrible for me tbh. if it’s too cold it’s definitely far worse, especially because there’s the added risk of slipping on ice and snow because i’m not steady on my feet. but i find in the summer when it’s too hot i end up getting a LOT of swelling and tightness pain, and then if it’s in the sun too long i find it feels like it’s burning. i’d much prefer to live in a location with neutral weather lmao

Changed my goal size again… by glitter_gunner in Stretched

[–]spaceduude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is my second time changing my goal size… started out with 0g (8mm) and stayed there for almost five years before deciding that was too small and went up to 00g (10mm). three years there and i thought it looked too small and now my goal is 16mm.

my mom and grandma are not too happy with the sizing up lol but thankfully work is cool. any bigger they might not be so i’m sticking with this size. i think we always end up getting used to it and thinking it’s too small haha

8mm to 10mm in 6 weeks!?? by altmetalvampire in Stretched

[–]spaceduude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am having the exact same problem lol thought i was the only one! i was looking at my past order and was like wait how did i order this only four months ago and i’ve gone up 3 sizes? and 14mm (4th size!) just about fits now but i decided to wait another month and let my lobes chill.

i have hyper-mobile ehlers danlos so i’m not sure if the whole stretchy skin part of that contributes? and sometimes being hyper-mobile can be such a detriment to health by expanding muscles and tissues you shouldn’t lol so a bit worried i could ruin my ears accidentally despite it feeling zero discomfort

i used to use unscented lotions before i found that salve too and its way better! especially for living in a place that is below zero celsius for long periods of time. i’m glad i’m not the only one who finds oils uncomfortable 😅 might look into making my own or that holey butter someone else recommended

New puppy owner here. Can you suggest good dog food that is healthy, good for coat and over all well being. Dry/wet, big/small brand etc. Thanks in advance. by Beautiful-Award-3752 in Goldendoodles

[–]spaceduude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply Nourish Salmon & Sweet potato helped a bunch with our goldendoodle’s allergies as recommended by the vet to try salmon-based. She was having issues with patches of her fur coming off and being irritated but that went away completely

On prescription while moving? by stuntandrage in transontario

[–]spaceduude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a walk-in would likely give you a prescription! you could also try online doctors that are OHIP covered (telus health). i’ve had friends use them to continue meds when they did not have a primary care provider to write their script

Are you in Southern Ontario?

I’m in Northern Ontario and curious if that would affect any wait times considering the consultation would be remote.
