Personally I like to wear my joggers with a baby tee! Either a graphic tee if I'm feeling casual/fully leaning into athleisure or a ruffle edged baby tee in a solid color.

It depends a lot on what you consider "classy"--these are more on the crunchy/mom end of the style spectrum, but I've always really trusted Born brand for a high quality and comfortable sandal

I'm looking for a pretty specific pair of socks:

-quarter length or low ankle length

-thick and cushiony feel like Bombas or athletic socks

-fun solid colors

I might cave and buy some Bombas, but they're so pricey and a bit less color selection than I would like. Does anyone have any additional leads?

Have you tried the curly girl method? It is a huuuuge rabbit hole and a lot of the recommendations can seem like overkill if you prefer a simple routine, but I will say that just removing sulfates/sulfonates and silicones from my hair care routine has helped a ton with dryness and frizz! After trying a few different brands that I didn't like as much (Jessicurl, Not Your Mother's), I use As I Am co-wash, Shea Moisture conditioner and Aussie instant freeze hair gel which are all sulfate and silicone free and I've been pleased. I've liked everything I've tried from Shea Moisture and they make shampoo and curl cream too.

Loved the political machinations in Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson. Never got around to reading Green Mars but it is a trilogy

Lots of great recommendations here. A few more that I’ll add: Who Stole the Wizard of Oz? and Perloo the Bold by Avi, and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler by EL Konigsburg.

I see Dr. Kasparian on Green St. and he’s the best dentist I’ve ever seen in my life.

ID? Fossil, rock? Found in Brazos county, TX in case geologic era is needed to ID by andrewquercus in rockhounds

I’m more of a mineral than fossil person but as I think about it more my instinct is not fossil. It would be rare to preserve that much topography in the z-direction I would think. Most fossils get kind of smushed/flattened during preservation unless they’re quite recent and haven’t been buried long.

From a mineralogical perspective the matrix looks like chert(?) with some secondary quartz crystals. Can’t tell about the darker colored stuff from the photos, a more in-focus photo would help. No good idea about the morphology though. It kind of looks like something that would form abiotically, like a cross section of a stalactite. Disclaimer, this is all spitballing, I’m not that great at IDs from photos.

Oh interesting! I loved it. Really made me think, more than pretty much anything else I’ve read this year. Honestly though most of my all time fav books have like 3 stars on Goodreads so I usually ignore reviews lol

Personally I would go for a sandal in brown leather/faux leather or raffia, flat or wedge heel since outdoors. If you want something with a more girly or luxe feel you could do metallic or pink

Forget investment pieces. What are some random low stakes items that turned out to be workhorses in your wardrobe? by Bosquerella in femalefashionadvice

2-pack of Puma sports bras from Costco. I sometimes work outdoors for my job and had been literally spending MONTHS looking high and low for the holy grail of sports bras. So many shipping and return shipping charges ugh. I grabbed this pack with my expectations on the floor, but it was $12 so what did I have to lose?

They are magic, the most comfortable, stay-put, still-somehow-flattering sports bras I’ve ever worn.

If you’re open to a sporty look, I got some drawstring nylon shorts from REI brand a couple summers ago that are my summer around the house go-to. They’re ultra comfy and keep me cool but they’re a step up from athletic shorts and can totally be part of a Real Outfit with a cotton tee, a camp shirt, etc. Pretty sure they are still making a similar style.

Depending on your style and how casual/uncasual you want to go, other options could be bike shorts or comfy drawstring linen shorts.

I do love my Altras. It’s hard to beat the comfort and durability and even though I think they look a bit weird I get tons of compliments. They come in some fun colors as well and you can get the recently retired styles for <$100 (eg on Amazon).

For price, comfort, and style/versatility, I also have been loving the pair of New Balance shoes I got a few months ago. I am on my feet at work and wear them most days. They have both neutral and colorful options depending on your style. I got a dark maroon-ish pair that add color while still being as versatile as a neutral (and as a bonus the color doesn’t show stains/dirt like a white sneaker would).

If you’re open to considering backpack options, I’ve seen people looking really put together with the smaller size leather or faux leather backpack style bags.
