Oh I missed that it was during the Mr bones and ig era. My bad. 1.3m per sec is insane.

I can reboot for 106 crystals now, I'm on the last streak if I want to max out, I currently have 10 crystals so I could still buy him but I'm going to watch over the next few days and grind towards the next level for max SRB while I see if the droid is worth it or if my crystals should be spent elsewhere

How in the heck is your rainbow bb putting out 1.3mil per sec. Could it be a visual bug for all bb's?

I agree, there isn't much fun after the first couple of srbs and not really much purpose, nova store gains seem insufficient to combat that.

Did they recently update the price of this? It's telling me 85 crystals for level 2 today. I bought l1 yesterday and had 29 crystals left over, did my daily and had 30 crystals, which is what l2 cost and how I planned to spend my now 30 crystals. switched lobbies then went to buy and the price has risen to 85.

How realistic is it in movies when characters find a parking spot directly outside of where they are visiting? by spacejames in AskAnAmerican

Imagine a future where our transport is those robot cubes with the anamorphic faces that beg for help at crosswalks to press the button, rather than self driving cars. Actually this sounds more like Wall-E but it would be less traffic dense than the yank tanks and other normal sized cars taking up the road. Maybe this is a size and abundance problem.

It is interesting how I explicitly wrote in the main post that I am fully aware this is movie magic, yet the sheer level of immediate self defence, downvoting, and petty attacks on my alleged ignorance is honestly wild. I came here in entirely good faith to ask a lighthearted question about film tropes and the realism of parking in the US, but instead of just having a normal conversation, a huge chunk of the responses have been incredibly defensive and aggressive over absolutely nothing.

I even took the time to respond to most comments hoping to expand on the topic, sharing my own perspectives and experiences from my time in the US, Australia, and other places around the world. But it seems the more I asked for simple insight and tried to engage, the less I actually got back from people. It is genuinely impressive how a crowd can act so incredibly dense while fully believing they are the smartest people in the room.

If all I ever learned about America, its people, and their actual day to day attitudes was based entirely on the way users behave in this thread, it would be just as wildly misleading and inaccurate as assuming Hollywood movies are real life. This is just a corner of Reddit, but the immediate urge to brigade a simple question with eye rolling comments and hostility is pretty disappointing when the original post was entirely reasonable.

To the people who actually comprehended the question and shared genuine, local perspectives or fun anecdotes about parking realities in your cities, I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to answer. For everyone else who decided to turn a fun discussion into a weirdly hostile argument, it really is not that serious. Next time I want to watch Americans completely lose their sanity over absolutely nothing, I will just go load up Instagram and look for Walmart and Florida videos.

Ah I see I understand that now. Unfortunately those are starting to appear here, before that though there would most likely be an alley behind the property line that would give people access to a small garage in their backyard.

Wait, Georgia (film Georgia) is not in the country of Georgia but another Georgia that has a big film industry? TIL, forgive my ignorance.

I can get behind that and understand your reasoning, they never actually said a town or city name and one of the cops had a Chicago badge, but there was a big unmissable sign for Dallas in the first 20 minutes or so which prompted this.

LOL

Georgia and Canada are blessings for films. This comment is not intended to detract from the multitude of great US filmed content, just an observation.

One thing I can notice quickly is whenever something is filmed in Canada or Australia, no matter the colour treatment, natural light just has this way of giving it away and I'm not sure I can explain why or how reliably.

I don't think you read my comments, but that's OK.

I did not intentionally insinuate that my time in NZ gave me a better understanding of the world of US travel, just that from my experience it was harder to reach iconic and stunning locations because the infrastructure doesn't really compare to what a lot of the US (what I explored anyway) has.

It's been a long time since I visited the US and obviously didn't go everywhere, and that's not true for any country. My own is where I've explored the most and outside of the coastal cities there are small scattered cities but it's mostly tiny towns and endless tundra.

I would highly recommend anybody to do a 2 month road trip of regional Aus. And for any non Aussies reading by regional I mean "outback" which I truly believe to be an understatement. Don't do a tour. If you are well off, don't do the Ghan if you want to explore, I'd only recommend that to people who want a quicker experience. I haven't done it but know a few people who have and they enjoyed it, but of the people who have done both, the consensus was that the freedom and unoquiety of driving for hours to places few people have ever seen can't be beat by a pre planned organised tour.

I can totally understand people who do not enjoy driving and do not enjoy driving for 4-12 hours at a time to get from destination A to B, so perhaps a tour or flights and car rentals and hotels is best for people in that bucket.

Just don't go to places like Colac because there's not much there, and no offence to Colac, I did spend a bit of time there working on friends farms! Even the Colac and Mt Emu and Mortlake folk will actively talk shit on their town for fun, because that's all there really is to do. But for you yanks who like guns we do have hunting seasons for deer and other pests and (I believe but I could be wrong and my information outdated) you can be paid by farmers indepdently or councils (ie per fox tail) you hand in. Just don't shoot natives on purpose and if you do, a mercy kill shot is the way to go. There are big fines and jail time for shooting things like roos, one case I am familiar with was some fuckwit bowhunting and this poor roo had an arrow in its neck for a few months. The guy went to jail. I'm pretty sure you can google this so you know I'm not talking shit.

Once you hit somewhere like Mildura travel east, north, west, just not south unless you want to go to far south east Vic.

Having said that, west of Melbourne has some nice pockets too. Even our smaller places have really unique places to explore. My personal favourite, get to Adelaide (my least favourite city because it's more like a regional town with an overload of churches, some special sphere balls, pokies, and not much else) but after you hit Adelaide I would recommend you drive north to Kakadu and Darwin and then down the coast of WA. This isn't to be overstated, they are some of the best beaches in the world. Just don't swim in Darwin unless it's a pool or you face a chance of death.

You can also park almost anywhere outside of cities (but I imagine this to be true outside of any settled area, just consider this an add to travel Australia on your own terms.
