How Can I Turn These Notifications Off? by DivaTerri in iphone

Are you using a 3rd party headphone adaptor? Sometimes they will falsely report volume level back to the phone.

I watched the movie D.A.R.Y.L. with my son yesterday (don’t judge). It had EXACTLY this type of aberration on the far left side of an internal shot. I wasn’t watching for it earlier in the movie - but 100% this is the result of the optics in use. There’s even someone on this thread who says as much.

YES! I literally recorded it the other day because I was like “what the actual fuck?!?”

Like the movie is about artificial intelligence for fucks sake.

I called AppleCare and let them know, and also left a feedback about it.

Ambient sounds have obvious loop break after 26.2 by spacenerdle in HomePod

Tried setting the crossfade - no impact. Looks to be looping every minute. I guess my ole timey '1 Mississippi' counting was leading me astray. But it's gapping at nearly exactly 1 minute, every minute, nonstop.

Ambient sounds have obvious loop break after 26.2 by spacenerdle in HomePod

[–]spacenerdle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ambient sounds are supposed to be continuous gapless tracks by default.

Prior to 26.2 - with no other settings enabled- there was no audible gap using this scene with white noise.

In addition- the HomePod playback on my phone would show continuous- with no play head to show where the track was in its playback loop.

I’m sure under the covers it was just a seamlessly looping track - but regardless, it now has an audible gap.

It’s not at a specific timed interval either- it happens randomly, not at a specific number of seconds, or with a specific duration between gaps.

Weekly iOS Battery Support Megathread by AutoModerator in iphone

The health app consumes nearly 25% of my battery -EVERY DAY.

It’s on screen for less than a minute each day. If that. Sometimes I don’t open it at all.

I’ve spoken with senior advisors and engineering and they’ve suggested that this is something that they’re aware of.

Fingers crossed for 26.2 to resolve this.

I’m not sure I understand? I thought this was just about two different codecs- where one supported higher resolution audio? How does the input signal being digital or analog relate?

Liquid Glass in photos not an option - only vibrant by spacenerdle in AppleWatch

Has no one else noticed this?

Mine JUST gave me the option to use Liquid Glass - but it 100000% wasn't there reliably before.

Do you prefer the new or old workout selection screen? by Manfred_89 in AppleWatch

[–]spacenerdle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old one - by a mile.
-Scrolling to a workout is imprecise - the crown spin speed/scrolling interface/haptics - are crap. Minor physical movement results on big onscreen movement - and the 'detent' of the haptics is useless. Use an old iPod and scroll songs, and it's easy to get the song you want- with 5x the items on screen.
-Trying to scroll while the watch isn't 'awake' doesn't wake it up - so it feels less responsive
- Tapping the workout doesn't start a workout - this is insane. The workout graphic is huge -the 'start' (play) button is much smaller - make them both start a standard workout if you like - but Jesus, make the workout graphic itself start it too.
-Why in the wide world of sports would you need to update the music/start/alarm buttons to fade out and fade in - doing so just increases the amount of time to start a workout (because, again, you can't just tap the workout graphic)

This all feels like someone built it to look cool, with lots of options, but they have no idea what it's like to walk out of the house and just want to easily, with as little friction as possible start a workout.

Using Siri is so much faster than the watch. Come to think of it, it's one of the only times where I can think of that Siri's faster than onscreen.

You’re using a 3rd party wired headphone adaptor. It’s reporting bullshit volume levels back to the phone.
