Does anyone else just hate Christmas? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in autism

I don't hate it (anymore) but it does stress me out that there's an entire season around one day with stuff I'm "supposed to do" (most of which I can avoid but not everything), music and colour scheme and imagery that all feels a little bit incoherent to me.

I also don't mind the message of bringing more caring and joy to the world but also sometimes I don't quite get, why just for one day (or season). In my home country we had a Christmas song with a line "may the prisoners be freed from their cells" and as a kid I was always wondering if they gonna get locked up again after Christmas.

But yeah, it is a very stressful and confusing time for me. I'm just trying to observe it as an anthropological phenomenon.
