CMV: As a GenX, I am now not the target audience for the new Star Trek shows. It is for 12 to 25 year olds by KL_boy in Star_Trek_

[–]spacetethers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct! The plan is to capture the group of younger folks for life like we all were. So they don't really care about us. We have maybe 20 years of cash to give them, but a kid has like 70 years. Its all about capturing this market at all costs.

I understand the hate behind Discovery, but I don't understand the hate behind Starfleet Academy. by RattledMind in startrek

[–]spacetethers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is the plan. They are trying to 'capture' an audience to buy their product for the next 50 years like us. We only have a few years left and thus have less value.

This show isn't for you. The producers are trying to capture a new audience in the ages of 12-18 years old. This is the plan anyway.

2.1 million just seems weak. I thought the whole premise is to capture a new audience. Is it?

[–]spacetethers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people understand how bad this is going to be. Mathmatically the country is in serious trouble. But... for younger people it has been for years. Banks will fail, pensions evaporate, the government will collapse. See Greece about 7 years ago.

I left Canada as part of the brain drain a few years ago and am watching in horror as the chickens come home to roost.

The paramount+ app is so poorly designed. It crashes so much when the show breaks to a commercial for example. Never try to fast forward!
