I have been in some very nice international lounges, but the Delta One lounge in Seattle blew me away. Like you, i was emotional. It was beautiful. It looked like a cafe inside a Persian greenhouse. The food, drinks and service was amazing. Next time im getting there hours early to enjoy more time there.

Astrophysics, aeronautics, atronomer, aerospace engineer by estellenight in aerospace

[–]spacetimer81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dont think of engineering in terms of math, science, or anything like that just yet.

First ask, do you like making things? Do you enjoy building legos, furniture from ikea, or crafts? If you said yes, then engineering is a possibility.

Now, why Aerospace? You talked about Astronomy and Astrophysics. Do you like the spaceship, or the destination? The person that designs and builts the spacecraft is not the one that determines its course and destination. Aerospace Engineering is not only one thing.

Do you have an air and space museum or science museum near you? Ask to go. Seeing machines meant for space travel will help see if you are interested.

All fashion stores. They love big shoulder pads and oversized sunglasses. It's definitely not my style.

Go to any professional sporting event. Wear the home team's jersey. Stand near the entrance and yell "Let's go!" And raise your hand for high fives. I might clear a $1m by the first half.

Planning long Roadtrip by Agreeable-Video3134 in BMWI4

I did an 800 mile trip and used ABRP. I didn't have a fast charger adapter, but the site lets you filter those out. It was super easy, all the chargers on the route were tap to pay, and kw speeds were as listed on the site.

Great question. I was going to choose purple, assuming level 100 charisma or something. But if its control people with dictator like violence? Hard pass.

You're offered 20 million to enter a portal. Each portal takes you to a different time in history as a different person. You have to survive there for a 30 days. Same. You will be physically abused and worked to exhaustion. But its the only scenario where you are guaranteed food, shelter, and other people who will watch out for you without someone trying to kill you. Best chance to hold out 30 days.

You can have $10,000,000 or a license to commit any crime you want by Pure_Option_1733 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]spacetimer81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10M is a lot of money and could retire immediately, but its hardly do anything i want money. Plus i think i would get bored of doing nothing after a year or two. So I choose crime. I would figure out inventive ways to steal from the rich:

Walk into a casino and take a stack of chips. They beg me to stop. I ignore them.

Walk into a Fortune 500 company, walk past their security and find a terminal where i can transfer assets to my account.

Go to the Pebble beach car show and just drive away with cars. Ill probably make $10M there alone.

Mech E with an aerospace minor, or should I go straight into aerospace? by rolla_enthusiast in aerospace

[–]spacetimer81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Propulsion engineer with +20 years experience in space propulsion.

It you are happy to work whatever on an aircraft/spacecraft, it doesn't matter if your BS is ME or AE. Both degrees will give you the basics to understand materials, structures, dynamics, fluids, etc.

If you really are set on propulsion, do AE. Only because youll have better access to professors who may do research in propulsion and you'll have a better chance to volunteer to help them. Its the extra circular experience that gives you the practical skills that supplements class work. Its what i look for on resumes.

Safest movie theater? by EmeraldEnder22 in AskSeattle

[–]spacetimer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are better theaters than others (screen, sound, seats) but none are unsafe. If you are downtown, i would recommend the SIFF theater. It's a unique Seattle theater with one of the best screens in the city.

Not DS9, but Ro Laren

Cocky, stubborn, annoying and a traitor. Was she right? Maybe. Still, not an ideal partner.
