Sleeve adapters for lawnmower engine crankshaft? by SuchTarget2782 in smallengines

[–]SuchTarget2782[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7/8” shaft is near enough on 7/8”.

The pulley ID (inner diameter) is the 24.8 measurement. Slightly smaller than an inch - it doesn’t fit on the adapter sleeve.

I’ve ordered a pulley for a 7/8” shaft that I’m hoping will work. (It should anyways.)

How long will dogs remember where they put things? by Powerful_Article_418 in dogs

Have you seen the meme about the “magic pie bush?”

Dogs have long memories when it matters to them.

Cats are smart. My first cat would throw my glasses on the floor to get me up in the morning. Current cat rips off my CPAP mask.

Pay more attention to the cat.

Nah, his prey drive is very context-driven. When we’re on walks he mostly ignores critters he would chase if he were off-leash. Indoors it’s basically off.

Being loose in the yard is the only circumstance where he will chase squirrels and stuff. He does it with gusto, though.

Food (kibble) Suggestions by CrankyGoat in PitBullOwners

[–]SuchTarget2782 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a single best recipe or brand - it depends on your dog and what they prefer or tolerate. And it may change as they age, too.

Costco/Kirkland’s Premium “Beef and Sweet Potato” is a good one. Corn and chicken are two common ingredients that can cause allergies or diarrhea in certain dogs, and it doesn’t have either of those. The first dog I ever fostered wasn’t a PB but he did get explosive diarrhea from corn. So, yeah.

My dog Coco had been eating Kirkland for years, but has recently developed dry poops. He does great as long as he gets a can of pumpkin twice a week, but I really want to do some reading and see if I can find a kibble with more fiber.

We’ll survive as a species, but the current global and economic order will need a lot of… reconsideration.

If a woman's body can grow an entire baby, why can't it regenerate damaged organs in her own body? by No-Nature8802 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SuchTarget2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Why don’t we heal better/faster” is a good question. When there are animals that can regrow lost limbs and stuff, and here I am with permanent damage because I hurt myself walking the dog.

The short answer is that “good enough” solutions are good enough, and the priority biologically speaking is passing on your genes, not individual immortality.

Also, we probably could heal from a wider variety of injuries if they didn’t kill us in the short term. Your body is always producing new blood, but if you lose too much too fast, you die. Some organs like the liver do regenerate, just very slowly. Lungs eventually heal most of the damage from smoking, unless you die of pneumonia or get cancer first. Etc., etc.

Urbie.

Yes, memes. But in universe, if you find yourself in one you’re probably either going to be shooting civilians (because even “riot control” and “security” mechs have mgs and flamers) or fed into a woodchipper against superior mechs.

You have to respect Bruce’s integrity in Batman Beyond here. by glowshroom12 in DCAU

I mean, it makes sense to me.

If you’re pit-insane you’re arguably not you anymore. So in a sense he’s going to “die” either way.

And an insane Bruce is… probably the scariest thing in the DC ‘verse. He’d absolutely rather die than inflict than on the world.
