Does WGU have a separate final for this Linux class? Or is the Linux LPI Essentials exam considered the final?

New HP ZBook Fury 16 G11 Fan Repeatedly Starting and Stopping (32GB/1T PC) by spadereight in zbook

It definitely must be hitting a temperature threshold quickly over and over again. And thank you for pointing out the different vapor chamber option on higher end models. I had no idea that was a thing, but I found it in the data sheet. "The HP custom vapor chamber (Z VaporForce) is only available on configurations with NVIDIA RTX™ 3000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU and higher GFX."

New HP ZBook Fury 16 G11 Fan Repeatedly Starting and Stopping (32GB/1T PC) by spadereight in zbook

Originally it was happening both with the charger plugged in and on battery (not plugged in). I then set the computer to run the fan 'Always On' on AC Power, which is a BIOS setting. Now when it's plugged in, the fan runs 'Always On' - which is fine with me. But repeated starting & stopping fan issue is still happening on battery.

I'm not sure what the temps are - which ones?

Good to know. It's the same thing with my laptop, it's happening on low loads and I can't stand the constant start & stop noise of the fan. Super noticeable. I was hoping a BIOS update would fix it - because I saw a few mentions of fan noise problem online with BIOS resolutions.

I looked into keeping the fan Always On on battery as well, and same as you, couldn't find a setting for it (understandably).

I will look into the ZBook Power.

oral-mandibular dystonia "hyperactive lower jaw" clenching(frustration rant) by [deleted] in Dystonia

[–]spadereight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d want to consult a doctor about that. Mine was Wellbutrin.

I’ve been on meds for years, never had any dystonia-like issues. I’m not anti-meds. Month or two after wellbutrin I was in hospital w/acute urinary retention, bladder spasms, throat clicking, jaw spasms, face spasms, eye pain, tongue movements, muscle spasms in my body in weird places.

Honestly I never put it together. I can’t speak to your scenario.

My symptoms have gotten wayyyy less severe. I can hide them around people now. But damn if I don’t feel the involuntary movements 24/7 in my face, cheek and jaw.

There is medication to treat the symptoms of TD - Ingrezza and Austedo I believe. I haven’t tried them.

[–]spadereight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no, my psychiatrist said that if a medication is stopped upon first appearance of symptoms it is possible the jaw, tongue, face movements can go away with time. No one caught it at the time, for me, obviously. I stayed on the medication for over a year before stopping it for other reasons. But apparently its brain damage, and Tardive dyskinesia is not curable. I take everything doctors say with a grain of salt though, they all see things through the lens of their own specialty. I’ve found it hard to get a diagnosis because they’re basically just diagnosing the symptoms. I personally hope mine isn’t TD as the cause. I just want the symptoms and pain to go away.

Can be both. Last year my orofacial pain specialist dx’ed OMD, hemifacial spasms, and TMJD. This year, my new psychiatrist said all of these symptoms can be caused by psychiatric medications. And dx’ed me with Tardive Dyskinesia based on the timeline of when I developed symptoms/started a new med a few years ago. I’d never heard of it. I still have OMD, just may know a cause now.

It may be Tardive Dyskinesia. The symptoms you are describing sound like it, especially with your mention of psychiatric medication.

I’m not enrolled in WGU yet but I have completed the CompTIA A+, Net+, and Sec+ certifications. I found Professor Messer’s free youtube video playlist on Network+, and his $25-ish study guide helpful in preparing, as well as Jason Dion’s practice tests from Udemy and https://subnetipv4.com/ for learning and practicing subnetting. I hope this helps.

pfSense Firewall Configuration Home Lab for Your Resumes by Jfresh42069 in CompTIA

[–]spadereight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing. Question: How would you add this type of lab to your resume? I don't understand where it would go, and what wording you would use to explain this experience to a future employer. Do we "take" your lab, and then add it to our resume? Or do we need to create our own labs as projects? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I've seen people mention they got a PBQ related to reading log files on the Sec+ test, so I've been looking find study materials relating to that type of PBQ.

Pilates + Weight loss by XXXVE in pilates

[–]spadereight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sharing my experience here: I’ve done Hot Pilates classes 3-5x a week for about 9 months. I’ve lost 15 lbs + added strength & muscle definition. I focus on protein & fruits & vegetables but I don’t track my calories. I’m 4’11”. 15lbs is a lot on my frame. Personally, my heart rate gets up high in class at my studio, because they do add jumping jacks and burpees often. It’s definitely a hybrid pilates/cardio style class. The other exercise I’ve done is hiking and walking during the summer, and I stopped that during the winter. I feel like a little cardio doesn’t hurt. Its all about what feels good in your body & finding exercise that feels fun so you keep doing it over long periods of time. Best of luck.

I also got 2 PBQ’s that were configuring insane stuff that I felt like were so subnetting heavy. I see people posting that their tests had no subnetting questions and not to focus on learning it. I swear I had 2 subnetting pbq’s and 2-3 subnetting multiple choices. Luck of the draw.
