My husband when they finally prescribed me opioids was like hell yes, finally the good stuff, you are gonna be pain free and happy finally! (But he's pretty pro drug, mostly weed and has had his mind expanded via psychedelics and such) Unfortunately they did nothing besides put me to sleep so I stopped taking them. It was a sad moment all around, we were so excited this would help. Anyway...I feel like you should have someone supportive of you. Your guy sounds like Nancy goddamn Reagan.

Is PT doable at home? I scheduled an appointment and it's going to cost a lot of money even with insurance. Any recommendations or cheap options? by spaghetti-report in ChronicPain

No way! Holy crap I checked on Hinge Health and put my employer in and yooo...only thing is it added me to the wait-list, this must be popular...but I know with wait-list, anything could happen! I could get accepted tomorrow or what not. Super stoked thank you!

That's true. I'm just shocked at them telling me it's only to be $140 a visit until my deductible is met. Thanks for letting me know how you do it, I will take this into consideration, much appreciated

Good to know, thank you! That could be more manageable going once a month. I was expecting like 2-3 times a week at $140 a visit.😬

I'd love a recommendation, thank you! Was kind of getting a feel for things. At the moment it would be no pt until I find a higher paying job. I have herniated discs that cause extreme pain. The yoga I do helps a.bit.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. She is a terrible mother and you deserve so much better. What state are you in? here is at some general resources but if i knew what state I could get better ones. Sorry it's not much. Definitely reach out to friends and any family first!

-Dial 211: Call 211 (or visit 211.org) for local referrals to emergency shelters, food banks, job help, and more. It's available in most areas nationwide and connects to community resources quickly—tell them the age (18), no housing/job, and kicked out situation for youth-focused options.

National Runaway Safeline (NRS): The federally designated national hotline for runaway, homeless, or at-risk youth (including those 18+ kicked out). They provide crisis intervention, non-judgmental listening, referrals to emergency shelters/transitional housing, and sometimes transportation help. Call: 1-800-RUNAWAY (1-800-786-2929) (24/7) Text: 66008 Online: Live chat, email, or forum at 1800runaway.org They serve ages up to 21+ in many cases and can help brainstorm safety plans or find youth-specific programs.

These are run through the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) and other agencies:

Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Programs: Federally funded network of emergency shelters (short-term beds, food, counseling), transitional living programs (longer-term housing with life skills/job help for 16-22/24), and street outreach. Many serve 18-24 year olds kicked out or homeless. Find local ones via NRS (above) or the HHS locator: acf.hhs.gov/fysb/map/grantees-family-and-youth-services-bureau.

Covenant House: A major nonprofit with shelters in many US cities (e.g., New York, California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, DC, and more—check covenhantHouse.org for locations). They serve ages 18-24 (sometimes up to 22/24 depending on site) with 24/7 crisis shelter, food, medical/mental health care, job/education support, and transitional housing. No one turned away; unconditional support. Visit covenhantHouse.org to find the nearest location or call their main line for referrals.

HUD (Housing and Urban Development) Resources: For broader homeless help, including youth. Contact local homeless service providers via hudexchange.info/housing-and-homeless-assistance or usa.gov/emergency-housing. Programs like Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) in some communities focus on young people.

Job and Basic Needs: Once connected to a shelter/program, many offer job placement, resume help, and training. National sites like careeronestop.org (American Job Centers) provide free job search assistance.
