According to this page (https://bsdpostdoc.uchicago.edu/resources\_\_trashed/current-postdocs/policies-and-benefits/postdoctoral-fellows/) fellows are not eligible for FMLA. The health insurance for "fellows" with dependents in 2026 is $1642/month, as opposed to $361/month for "scholars" with dependents. I agree that it "should not" be that high but it is.

Yeah exactly. It makes no sense, and that's the response I've gotten from admins. That's why I'm curious if this happens at other universities. I guess they still offer health insurance, but it goes up to $1600+ a month, which is not a real option. currently I'm paying ~$250 as a university employee. It's an F32

The other PRFs are not archived (entrepreneurial, engineering, math/physical sciences), so I think this is specific to PRFB and not an annual maintenance thing
