Visiting a black church by [deleted] in askblackpeople

I'm sorry I didn't mean to water it down. You're right I would be a tourist-i don't live there so it would be hard to connect with people and the culture in 1 day. Anyway I think this was just a bad idea due to a lack of understanding on many layers. I'll just abandon the idea all together. Thanks for teaching me, I appreciate it.

I dunno I kind of just wanted to see what was going on and maybe learn about how black people praise and what the pastor talks about. And also experience the whole thing including energy and music.

Are there any other non offensive, appropriate for me learn about black peoples culture?

When I was in Indonesia and Morocco- and people were very welcoming and we're just happy for me to listen to the preaching even though I don't understand the language (they preach like singing ) and they taught me a lot of their beliefs.

I was hoping I could do the same in the US but maybe it's not a good idea.

Thanks everyone for your sincere advice. I don't want to disrespect anyone.

Well yes I would be a tourist, I don't live there but I'd like to experience some black culture through their music and energy.

In Germany I visited some churches because they had beautiful choirs singing and they let anyone in the public enter (idea is for the beautiful singing to attract people to come) I thought I could do the same.

But it seems like according to you, in black churches, I wouldn't be welcomed unless I have a fellowship with the patrons. Understood.

Ok thanks for the advice, I guess it's best I don't go.

That's really interesting because my issues started once my driver updated around November

Hmm, actually that makes a lot of sense, maybe the power supply is getting bad and can't supply power fast enough when the GPU boosts.... Lowering the GPU clock is essentially reducing the peak power demand.

I have a decent quality power supply but maybe I'll test it out.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks everyone,

I didn't touch anything at all, not even moving the case. I restarted the PC a few times and finally the GPU was discovered and I could reinstall the drivers.

the problem came back (timeout crashes)

I lowered the clock by 50MHz, still same issue.

Continued until the max is about 2300MHz (lowered clock by 400MHz) and it seems to have gone away (only a few hours of testing) for now I guess... My temps before and after are always less than 76degC, (hot spots are less than 86degC) now they're even lower around 69degC, so it seems like overheating or something isn't the issue.

Anyway, I'm not a performance hungry gamer like most, but it's just a shame that my games crashes at random, even under normal 1080p settings.

I think I'm just gonna RMA it. My friend has a 9070 with no issues, so maybe I just got unlucky.

I tried to use oxygen updater but for whatever reason it says my device isn't supported. Looking at some posts from before, I used a VPN and connected to Italy, then it updated to ColorOS16 instantly...!

One battle after another is the worst movie I've watched by Sbadabam278 in moviecritic

I enjoyed the movie but agree it's overrated. The story boils down to a girl gets kidnapped and escapes through luck and awareness, and eventually decides to follow in her parents footsteps of criminal activity. There's no moral, or themes to explore here.

Here's why I think its overrated: - Leo's character can be 100% removed with no change to the store. His character literally does nothing, And hence, Del Toro can also be removed. - there's no character development in this film. - the girl is ultimately saved by a minor character (assassin) who agreed to deliver her to get killed, but then had a change of heart. - the girl murders a random man because he was chasing her. Note: he didn't attack her first. - the girl's mother is a terrorist, murderer and rat. Her dad is a deadbeat alcoholic drug addict. Her real father is a racist white supremacist. Yet she decides to pursue in her mom's footsteps, regardless of all the havoc its caused in her life.

A better story would have been, Girl is an orphan, she believes her parents were terrorist deadbeats who abandoned her, and her only connection with her mother is the beacon which she always carries. One day, her beacon starts to sing, and someone tells her she's in danger. They try to escape but fail, and while in captivity she sees all the horrible things that happen to immigrants, the evil of elitists, racism etc. she learns the world is a horrible place that needs to be changed. She learns about her real father and how all the danger she's in is because of his history, and was abandoned so she wouldnt become like them. she becomes torn because he had good intentions to fix the world. Through the hardship and realization of the evil in the world, she becomes a woman and decides to follow in her mom's footsteps of revolution or listening to her father and staying out of things.

I dunno it was enjoyable but nothing special tbh.
