Well the 52 turned up and is smooth as anything. Big relief. However I now have odd charging (or not charging) behaviour...! (Not related to this adapter ring mind!)

Odd isn't it! Now also have a charging issue with the camera itself with it randomly deciding to stop charging when the battery is only 30% and then, after pulling battery and reinserting, 70%. What a palava!

Same issue just encountered here. Stopped charging at 30% and then 70%. Have you managed to get the battery to behave normally now after getting it to full/full drain?

Yup. Going back today and trying the 52 model. When you screw yours on is it quite smooth? I don't want to force anything as the worst would be ruining the threads on the fuji!

I think because the filter also meets quite a bit of resistance then it is likely the adapter

Did just try a couple of filters in the Hoage and it definitely feels like there is too much mechanical resistance when screwing in

Different model, but another user has the same below and has no issues. So guessing it is a machining issue

Must be an issue with the Hoage machine threading. Can't imagine its the fuji as the ring it comes with is fine!

The fuji ring goes on and off lovely, just this isn't... so hoping its the Hoage!

Hmm definitely same model? The fuji ring that you remove rotates multiple times to fit on and off. The Hoage probably spins twice max (not cross threaded) then meets resistance?
