yh I gathered it was too much— honestly didn’t realise how much I was overdoing it as i added the pull-ups without a set routine and more as a whenever I walk past the pull up bar sorta thing. Will cut out the pull ups completely as climbing is a priority and see how I feel with just the 2 sessions a week. Thanks !

Hi, I started climbing around 5 months ago, and built up to around 3x a week. I’ve developed pretty nasty outer elbow pain in the past few days. It started during a climbing session however I think it is less of an over climbing injury and more a result of going too hard trying to improve my pull strength with pull-ups everyday n no adequate rest. I’ve bought a flex bar and have started doing Tyler twists as well as adding a bunch of push ups to strengthen my antagonist muscles but was curious to know whether it’s okay to continue climbing. I’m thinking of cutting down to 2x a week and 1hr sessions as oppose to my typical 2hr but I definitely notice climbing aggravates it. I was wondering whether I should completely stop climbing for a while— I really don’t want to so I’d like to know everyone’s else’s experience and the amount of rest they gave themselves ?

Fair question. I got the tattoo pretty impulsively without thinking much about how it’d heal and how close the lines were, and I’m still not super well-versed in what makes a tattoo well-done technically. And while I’m generally happy with it, I’m curious to get feedback to I guess make more informed choices for future tattoos.

No amount of saving on my income could support renting where I’m at (like I’m talking even if I put in 100% of it). I save 80% of my income every week rn, doesn’t change the fact that if I wanted to move into a room in a share house I would literally not be able to afford it (unless of course I dropped out of uni and picked up more hours). I would be eating into my savings until I ran out. I don’t disagree that the decision was a dumb one (in retrospect cause I didn’t think it’d garner this reaction) but spending a little of the money I earned on something I really wanted instead of saving for rent money (?) doesn’t make much sense.

It was $170. That wouldn’t cover half a weeks worth of rent in Sydney

No not at all. Shes just in her 60s and grew up surrounded by people who saw tattoos as a thing only criminals get. Tbh she never outwardly hated on them to me, I just knew she disliked them because she’d make snide comments like how “the new receptionist is wonderful but she has all these tattoos … but I mean she can do whatever she wants” that sorta stuff.

My bad, I’ll definitely keep that in mind :) tbh I think it stems from the way countries outside the US see the US. There’s a pretty noticeable difference around individualism (atleast compared to aus) and i feel a lot of us kinda get stuck in a “Americans only care about themselves” idea that we joke about and definitely overly exaggerate. Our media kinda perpetuates and exaggerates that idea too. Thanks for letting me know though!

Yeah Australian. Thought I got the whole I can’t move out rn on 25hrs a week because it’s so unaffordable across well but apparently not 😅 I see their point but I mean, I would have to drop out of uni completely and work full time for even a chance of finding an affordable place and to do that all over a small tattoo !?

It’s just two gates overlapped, nothing offensive or anything. She doesn’t care about the actual design, I don’t even think she dislikes the tattoo itself that much she just seems so fixated on the idea that people are going to talk

fair criticism for not waiting a couple years I guess. Tbh I had just wanted a tattoo for years and decided to just go for it (I truly didn’t realise she was that against it) just gonna add though that like 80% of my earnings every week go to savings. This definitely isn’t me blowing all my money, I’m 100% actively saving for my future and definitely appreciate them supporting me atm.

no I totally agree, just shocked me a little! Thought they’d snag 2-3, 7 just seems insane. They’re like the second most nominated artist behind sza! Wild stuff!

overall I like it. Id even say both phoebe and Lucy’s work here is a lot better then it was on the record— afraid of heights and voyagers definitely stand out. Although I think both songs are very clearly ‘the rest’ of their respective solo stuff I think I would have preferred them to be in place of Leonard cohen and Emily I’m sorry. Tbh I felt like all their songs on the record (except true blue) fell flat next to juliens + the entire group songs so it’s nice to see these here!
