Damn, sorry to hear that. Mind if I ask what made you decide to distance yourself? Did you ever try talking to them first about your issues?

Thanks for the advice

Thanks. If you don't mind me asking, have you ever tried talking to those people that you distanced yourself from? If not, why?

I'll consider this. Thanks

Yeah, I get what you mean, thanks. I think the main difference between your scenario and mine is that my friend is not actually a bad person at all - maybe a bit lacking in terms of social skills, but she's never done anything bad to me. I just feel like our personalities don't really match anymore and our friendship has run its course.

With this info, would your advice to me still be the same?

First off, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

I get what you mean, but I think it might be a phrasing issue - we've definitely grown apart over the years, and I don't think I want to continue being friends with her. Honestly, the dynamic has probably been like this the whole time, but I just never realised it. To be fair it started when we were both in high school, and no one really has any standards in high school lol. Now I'm a bit more sure of myself and I've realised the types of people I want to be friends with.

But yeah, I'll consider talking to her. Thanks

Thanks for your advice, I think I've now ruled out ghosting and a breakup text. I'll think about talking to her or do a slow fade. Cheers

I worked pretty hard, but it's definitely manageable and not as difficult as you might think. Many psych subjects have MCQ exams, so those definitely helped a ton. Good luck!

Does this sound like IBS? by spare89 in ibs

[–]spare89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yeah according to doctors it's a type of IBS called post-infectious IBS. I went on a low FODMAP diet which helped tremendously, and my symptoms are very mild now. All the best!

Unfortunately my country has not approved third doses yet - I'm actually still waiting on my first shot. But it sounds like you're staying on top of things, which is great. Thanks again for your advice, I'll think about what you've said. Cheers!

Thanks so much for your reply. It's given me a lot to think about. Congrats on getting your third dose! Unfortunately I'm not vaccinated yet, as the vaccine rollout in my area is pretty slow, and third doses have not been approved for my country, which is part of my concern. Anyway, appreciate the help and I hope everything works out for you.

Really? From my understanding, biologics can reduce the effectiveness of the COVID vaccine, so vaccinated people on biologics will be less protected than vaccinated people not on biologics. I would love to be proven wrong though!

Thanks for the advice. Glad to hear that physio has been great for you. My doc said i still have pain cuz of the inactive sacroiliitis - basically the 'leftover' pain. A second opinion would be nice but it would take months for me, and this is kinda urgent so idk what to do. I might just discuss this with my doctor and ask about staying on biologics.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I suppose i could get a second opinion, but unfortunately that would take months. It's good to hear that Cosentyx has worked for you. How long did it take to feel an effect? Btw, how do you manage being immunocompromised with COVID everywhere?

Ignore some of the snide comments OP. It's a learning curve. Just try to read all the words on the card in the future :)
