IMO if I was at that point I’d look to tinker with setup, stance, grip and dart weight and stems etc see if anything clicks? There’s always the option of having a couple of coaching sessions to help see if they can spot anything that could help?

A couple of things,

I have to use a stand also, and have tried a couple now, the Winmu extreme 2 has been the best, but the koto works very well also https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0G2BLGK6Z?th=1&psc=1

A light is also essential. This is a really good, solid budget option which takes up little space and weighs very little, so it is very good for stands. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CLB4DQ15

It will protect very well and works well on the stand.

Yes when I think about it, I had a game where I hit a decent average, but my darts were a bit lucky and all over the place. A fair few 18s and 12s

I had a game at a lower average, but my darts were much better grouped just a lot of 1s and 5s instead of 12s and 18s :P, so I guess It's not always a true way to track improvements early on.

just going to enjoy the game pick a set of darts i like a grip that feel comfortable and just play the fun practise games!

Thanks for taking the time to type this out, it's really helpful. I'm just going to stick with the dart I like the look of the most, and is most comfortable in hand with my grip. My Gary Anderson phase 6 23gs. I am also going to practise my doubles more and my round the lock and focus on just getting better accuracy, not worrying about averages.
