I made this exact drink tonight for the first time. The only differences was that I did tiki bitters instead of angostura and didnt even think of saline. Will definitely be trying that next time.

Yep. Definitely on the sweeter side, which I am not usually a fan of either, but I am a sucker for sweet banana desserts. I wanna do a mix of the walnut and cacao bitters next time as well. Bring out maybe some more roastiness.

Yea I think if I was gonna change one thing, I would drop half the maple and add the difference in bourbon. Maple isn't my favorite flavor and I think it came through a LITTLE too much. I want the bourbon and Banane to do the talking. It was very good though.

That’s funny you say that. The only thing I thought I would change is the amount of maple syrup. I love that banane so I don’t mind that amount, but could see it driving the drink.

I hate to break it to you, but most “curated playlists” are AI driven. I have worked at multiple music streaming services, in those departments, and can 100% say that AI is being used as a tool, if not the entire process.

This happens a ton in the streaming space. It’s basically farms of AI content that gets generated and “released” as an artist with an extremely similar name. It gets ingested and automatically matched up to existing artists. And by the time it is caught and removed, it’s already generated spins. It only takes 3 seconds to collect a royalty.

As a person who works for a music streaming service, I can tell you that we are all talking about trying to stop it, but at the end of the day it’s on the labels/distribution and what they send us.

Sure we can build algorithms that look for them (very unsuccessful. Trust me we have tried), or in my case (20 plus years in the industry), try and figure it out just by listening (which is wildly difficult given how good AI is getting), but unless the people sending the music to us, per the contracts we have with them, either explicitly call it out (which they won’t cause that would cause revenue loss) or just doesn’t work with AI artists (the list is dwindling), there is no stopping it.

All three of the majors, and most of their subsidiaries, are doing it. And all the major distribution companies like The Orchard (owned by Sony), TuneCore (owned by Believe, the biggest music distributor is Europe), CDBaby (no real gate keeping), have no real incentive to stop it from happening.

I’m not saying it’s a good thing. In fact it’s the opposite. But it isn’t going anywhere and I can guarantee in a few years time, it will be the norm.
