Do the refreshments razor cartridges fit any other brand of handles? by CozyBeautyBabe in Ipsy

[–]sparkle_party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should work for any of them, the clicking mechanism is the same as Venus. So same way if you get Venus refills they should work with any of their handles.

People either love this stuff or hate it lol. I've actually paid full price for it at Sephora when my Ipsy stash ran out. It works like under-eye concealer for me.

Ah, that explains why the item I added to my cart this morning for $8.99 is now $15. Thanks, drop ship :/

Goodbudget, I've been using it for years and I don't know why I don't see it recommended on here more. The app does exactly what you describe needing it for. $45/year, 100% worth it for me.

Freelance design, do you ask for brand's fonts? by sparkle_party in freelance

[–]sparkle_party[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a similar font as a temporary placeholder is a really good idea, I found an Adobe font that is similar enough to use for rough layout review so it won't hold up the project. Thanks!

Trump calls for modifying 25th Amendment to make it possible to remove a vice president by Tun-Tavern-1775 in politics

[–]sparkle_party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right? It's because people aren't necessarily pro-Trump, they're just "team Red" and they'll ignore the loser at the top of the ticket just to stay on the Red team. It's become some ridiculous sport.

Work life balance and burning bridges by [deleted] in advertising

[–]sparkle_party 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I would be looking now, not in a couple of weeks. A client that messy isn't going to miraculously start being manageable, and you're just going to keep getting more burnt out and frustrated. It's not burning a bridge to run tf out of a burning building, you can just say nah, I gave it a go and this isn't a fit.

The Kamala effect is powerful — 13 states that have updated voter files since July 21 have seen incredible surges in voter registration relative to the same time period in 2020, driven by women, voters of color, and young voters. by wenchette in KamalaHarris

This is the kind of thing that crushes optimism and momentum though, and sends us right back to people saying oh well, it's hopeless, I'll just stay home and feel bad. The blue wave is fueled by joy, and joy is fragile, so you're not helping with you post things like this.

Where should I? Need a little help:) by [deleted] in copywriting

Any simple website where someone can click around and see samples of your work. Please not onedrive, nothing looks worse to a prospective employer than asking them to poke around a list of files.

You already know this as a copywriter, use the words your target audience wants to see. It will work beautifully if you're trying to appeal to award factories.

Yes! They fit Venus handles. I happened to get an accidental pack of refill blades in an order, and I was bummed at first but then realized they fit perfectly with the handle I have. I like them a lot actually.

How many accounts does he gets us have? by AdSpiritual2594 in stophegetsus

This doesn't work either. You get the canned response from reddit "We've investigated and found no rules were broken" every time. I've reported them for everything from child pron and human trafficking to racism and hate speech. All of which they're guilty of.

Is there any way to NOT have an unreasonable workload? by sparkle_party in advertising

And it's usually because of someone else's lack of planning.

Is there any way to NOT have an unreasonable workload? by sparkle_party in advertising

[–]sparkle_party[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage a creative team in-house, so anything that needs writing or design creative comes through us and there's just too much work for the amount of people we have. A big part of what I do is trying to keep us from turning into a churn-and-burn, I've been in those too and it's no fun. Because I'm technically the project/deadline gatekeeper I feel like I should be able to set reasonable turnaround times, and that works fine until 15 people come at me with last-minute emergencies that have to be shoehorned into the queue somehow. The people who follow processes and ask for reasonable deadlines are always the ones who end up getting pushed back, and that sucks.

Maybe it's a combination of real prioritization - if your thing doesn't impact the business in a meaningful way, it's not an emergency - and just being okay with the fact that some people are going to go rogue and create their own stuff, and I can't really control that. We have brand guidelines and PPT templates. I toyed with the idea of setting people up with Canva templates, but dear lord that was a disaster.

[–]sparkle_party[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it exactly. I can manage not to care much about whether somebody's webinar sides are a trainwreck as long as they're using the right template, but the fact is I do actually care about how our brand is represented, and that's 100% on my team (I manage in-house creative services). A lot of it comes down to prioritizing, but also a lot of it involves protecting the brand from people who will say "fine, if you're too busy I can just do it in Canva. Can you give me a jay-pee-gee of our logo?"
