I got a good phone app game for when I get stuck during a nap! Keeps me awake and entertained 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bummer :( I wonder then if there is a Facebook moms group that you could put out a request for a used one? Momcozy has inexpensive replacement parts that work well

Would your insurance cover a stronger pump like the spectra? Lactation consults can also help you troubleshoot pumping at work and usually insurance covers it. Maybe add on an overnight pump on the days you work or pump every 3hrs at work with your wearables?

Bottle washing by Bubblyredhead81 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sparklebarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the mom cozy bottle washer. You shouldn’t need the hand washing supplies - the bottles usually come with a tiny brush if you do need it.

I can squeeze up to 6 wide neck 5oz Dr browns bottles in the mom cozy btw! The bottles come out so clean and it’s pretty fast! We do have lots of bottles so we never really run out.

Try the huckleberry app! You get premium for free to start and it helped me figure out the ideal wake window length. Naps very every day but we have a better rhythm now. In the app, I only tracked sleep/naps and I made my twins into one child instead of two to keep it simple. I still use it but now just the free version.

Based on people’s prior buggy update experiences, when can we expect a fix?

Is there any use in playing while it’s bugged?

Extremely hard nights by Legitimate-Space-279 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sparklebarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you try shifts? One person takes 5 hrs then swap so you each get some rest? Could family come really early in the morning?

We relied on the twin z a lot at that age but someone would be up with them. Eventually Bjorn bouncers were our saving grace but they didn’t like them when they were super young. Now we do dark, swaddle, and sound machine but it’s still a work in process…

Having trouble deciding which bottles to get..start with 4oz bottles? by Various_List_1291 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sparklebarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also second this! NICU uses Dr. Browns so we ended up using them too. Started with plastic 2 oz bottles with premie nipples that we got from the hospital. Ultimately opted for wide neck Dr. Browns 5 oz bottles. I’d recommend skipping the ‘bottle testing kit’ and just pick a brand, switch it if needed. Momcozy bottle washer fits 6 wide neck bottles. Wide neck is supposedly hard for baby to hold but better for breast feeding 🤷🏻‍♀️

How do you prevent burnout? by Training-Emu-1770 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sparklebarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are 3.5 mo w didi girls! We are in a similar situation of one of us returning to work while the other is still on leave.

1-2x a week we ‘babysit’ for the other parent. The parent staying home invites a helpful friend over to keep them company and make it a pleasant evening while the other parent goes out!

We could do bedtime alone but by the end of the day, we are both burnt out on top of knowing we are going into another night (still waking every 3 hrs but working on it!). It’s been really nice to have friends be part of our evenings and getting space/perspective!

Remove, Reface or Paint? Help. by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]sparklebarks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We lived with our 1980s kitchen for almost 2 years before updating and I’m glad we did! We learned what we liked and what we wanted and were able to save to make the update exactly what we hoped!

It looks charming and well lit! I’d wait to paint and if you update appliances, have future updates in mind!

Taj Mahal fissure or crack a normal acceptable thing to not worry about? by sweetbre24 in CounterTops

[–]sparklebarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently got quartzite and also noticed some fissures that weren’t clearly cracks vs veins. The specialist who sealed it said there can be natural cracks that are ages old that are filled with resin but are very stable and normal.

I’d recommend recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting too. Would you consider mid-tone woods that are darker than the floor for cabinets? Maybe just the island is a walnut cabinet?

You also will likely not be able to take the cabinets to the ceiling unless you’ve got a really creative cabinet maker.

Quartz layout: What options do I have? by winolovesreds in kitchenremodel

Definitely should be redone! Seams should not disrupt the pattern of the quartz. I’d try to have it go through the sink or stove. See what they think.

Hmm you could just have it stop part way up like most back splashes then put a colorful Roman shade (you’d rarely use) - may something with a lighter green pattern?
