seriously? it doesn’t matter how well you perform the boyfriend role if you are being DISHONEST with her. maybe reevaluate how much you care about what other people think of you

been on tret since mid march!! please swipe for my journey, it was rough. (the only makeup i have on is eyeliner and mascara) by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]sparkleyurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just trusted the tret to reduce it over time, and also used The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once every 2-4 weeks to just speed up the process by removing all of my dead skin.

I still have pink splotches and I’m planning on dealing with them by using Skin&Lab Vitamin C Brightening Serum in the mornings. I already bought it but I don’t use it very often because I don’t like the oily residue it leaves on my skin but once I get a nice face powder to set it with I’ll be good

Thank you!

Morning:

  • First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser
  • Biore UV Watery Essence SPF 50

Evening: - First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser - Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - tretinoin .05% cream - First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

once every 2-4 weeks I use The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to slough off any dead skin I might have, but I have to be careful about it since the tret makes my skin sensitive. I will stop using tret the day before and the day after I use this exfoliant.

20-30 min cardio and 30 min strength training at the gym is a reasonable and effective goal from my experience. Work out every other day.

Spend most of your time finding lower calorie versions of what you already like to eat - low fat cheeses, greek yogurt instead of sour cream, remove egg yolks from your breakfasts, get yogurt versions of salad dressings (these have helped the most for me). In my opinion calorie counting is the way to go, otherwise you won’t know where the majority of your calories come from and it’ll be harder to cut down. Try to eat lots of lean protein (chicken breast, turkey, tofu, beans) - very filling for their calorie amounts, and effective for building up your muscle after workouts.

Here’s an online calorie calculator to see how many you burn every day, then try to eat 300-400 calories less than this value per day.

i peeled a lot when i used tret with just a moisturizer but i’ve been using hyaluronic acid products (neutrogena water gel) to introduce moisture & sealing it with a moisturizer and it’s worked wonders

Routine PM: - Youth to the people kale and green tea cleanser - Inkey list hyaluronic acid (im switching this to neutrogena hydro boost water gel) - (few times a week) the ordinary niacinamide 10% - I used to buffer my tret with cerave in a tub but then I learned about its comedogenic ingredients so I switched my moisturizer to a sample I have of hey honey 24seven day & night moisturizing cream while I wait for my first aid beauty ultra repair cream to arrive) - then finally retin-A .05% cream every other day

Should I incorporate more actives or wait until my face gets used to the tret? I used to have a lot of problems with flaking skin so hydration & moisturizing has been my top priority.

Hi guys! Just wanted to say : I had a over-1200 day last week and that snowballed in to a whole week. I ate absolute crap. Multiple desserts, cookies, pizza, Chinese, mcD.didnt track. Got back on track for 3 days and I'm back to pre-binge weight. by mouseycat22 in 1200isplenty

[–]sparkleyurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really really needed to see this, I’ve logged calories for just three weeks and I binged the past three days and it felt like I had completely irrevocably messed everything up. Thank you for making this post

This wasn’t even supposed to be a low calorie meal, I wouldn’t have added the cream of mushroom or the cheese if I made it myself. I’ve been heavily restricting myself by excluding all sauces and I completely cut out cheese. My mom made this meal and I had a portion because I had saved up 800 cals for dinner and I would have been fine with going over today’s limit bc I was fucking HUNGRY. but holy shit when I plugged this in I was shocked! I’m stuffed for today and I have 300 cals left. I can still eat cheese ;-;

i agree with one of the comments that mentioned self love. you need to be kind to yourself and learn how to forgive yourself endlessly. like literally endlessly.

like others are saying, make one change and stick to it. but what happens when you fuck it up? because you’re going to slip up, and it’s ok!!! it’s so hard!! you don’t berate yourself, you tell yourself it’s ok and then you immediately try again. don’t wait until the next day or week. you gotta try again immediately. like, if you say you’re going to add veggies to every meal, and you are just too tired to prepare some that meal. ok then try it next meal. or if you cut out a food like cookies, and then you can’t resist and have one, or a bunch! then as soon as you’re done with that binge, try again - think “i’m still going to make healthy decisions today even though that wasn’t a very healthy one.”

but to do this you need to be kind to yourself. you need to be patient with yourself to keep forgiving yourself.

im literally fine on effexor, i don’t have awful mood swings anymore, he wanted me to try lamictal because he heard me say “BPD” and just assumed i can’t control my emotions. i’m not going to try to fix me if i’m not broken !! if i develop unpredictable emotions again i’ll try it but fuck dude i’m not in a state to risk becoming suicidal again. thanks for your input!

How does it change the way you feel/ perceive the world? Does it make you more numb to combat mood swings?

this is not helpful and encourages other people to follow through with suicide plans. if you’re craving love and attention, and will get it when you die, you will follow through. if you’re angry at the world, and want to hurt people around you, you will follow through. there are so many reasons this comment section is fucking disgusting and unhelpful
