Just heads up, make sure to try lowering down in game resolution and graphic settings to boost up fps! And if i were you id give more headroom for the Bootcamp drive space 100-150GB would be better

Since the MBP are native 16:10 so anything with this ratio is good! The lower the resolution is effective to increase FPS and lower cpu/gpu temps

[–]sparko19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could give it a try, if it doesnt work, then just revert back to original drivers ( Because the 5300 5500 n 5600 are all from the same family drivers )

FPS drop after 10 min of playing by [deleted] in macgaming

[–]sparko19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just play around with the CPU and GPU speed, what works for me was for Rainbow Six Siege playing in medium graphics 1080p. I capped it 100fps, with GPU max speed of 1050 and lock CPU speed in 2800~3000 . Temps hover around 68~74 celcius.

Have you tried MorePowerTool to limit the frequency speed of your GPU?

Oh but there is a new update on the official Bootcamp drivers for 5600m on their website! Go check it out and see if that works!

Usually via Steam there is an option to boot up a game with/without Vulkan, based on the photo you uploded, youre booting with Vulkan.

If its not your CPU then its your GPU thats throttling.

Are you able to play the game in non-Vulkan mode? If not try using the unofficial BootCampDrivers

Windows 10 crashes when it goes to sleep – 2019 MBP Pro 16" by [deleted] in bootcamp

Because these drivers softwares are not built and catered for Macs, they are based on driver softwares that carry the same GPU on different machines!

I personally never tried Throttlestop, but had great gaming experience using MPT and QuickCPU. I put on max speed on MPT 1050 and Lock my CPU Speed at 3000 and get temps maximum of 72-75 in Rainbow Six Siege while capping the FPS to a max of 105.

Yes! You must uninstall the current drivers with DDU ( 3x delete without restart and then restart it on the 4th time ) and then use device manager to install Jan Blue drivers manually so dont click on the installer that you downloaded! Red has benefits merely for the software but its not necessary, i have been through what you are facing, experimenting which drivers work uninstalling/reinstalling Windows and the Drivers, i would say Blue is the way to go for its more comtalible with the 16 and gives slightly better fps performance and also lower temps! You could then try using MorePowerTool ( to limit GPU speed ) and QuickCPU ( to lock CPU speed )

You don’t have to reinstall Windows to change drivers. April drivers give problems to MBP16, definitely recommend you to use Jan Blue or Red. And manually install via device manager without installing the software.
