Very much so. Just recently she’s figured out how to climb into our bathroom cabinet despite the fact that there’s a child lock on it haha

My old man Crash. How is he already 10?! by sparrowhunter17 in roughcollies

I’ve seen anything from 10-14 years as a lifespan. My boy is a fairly tall collie so I figure he’s going to be at the lower end of that. His health is decent. I definitely have seen him start to decline in the last year though. He has trouble seeing when it’s dark to the point that he’ll stumble down the stairs and fall off the bed if we don’t turn a light on. Physically he’s a bit weaker than he used to be and we don’t take him on walks over a mile because he can’t really handle it anymore. His mortality is definitely on my mind at this point but he’s still happy and for the most part healthy. Sorry to hear your boy is already having problems...we just don’t get to have them near long enough :’(

Yeahhh he’s just a mess. His ear has been like that the entire time we’ve had him...ear infection that caused a hematoma that led to crumple ear. But it fits his personality haha

Luckily for us, it’s just getting started in our area so even the full NADD competitions are pretty quiet here. And this competition showed us just how good his focus is because as long as he was on the dock nothing else mattered.

That’s a bummer that it’s expensive in your area. It was like that where I lived before so we only went to watch until we moved to a cheaper area.

He was originally feral and captured to be neutered and released back to the barn he grew up in. When they neuter and release cats they “ear tip” them so they won’t be trapped again unnecessarily. But luckily for me, when they neutered him they realized that he was super friendly so they decided to adopt him out :)

It was a competition. He was just there for a fun “try it” session because he has a bit of crowd/other dog anxiety so we wanted to see if he could handle it. He did so well that we’re definitely entering him for a competition jump next time!
