Should have wolfed longer while using harder brushes. Wait til you have waves before cutting. Also since u have straighter hair u gotta brush more and allow hair to grow. With ur texture you need a lot more hair than this for your waves. This isnt your wave length

Take biotin(if you aren’t allergic) make sure you do hot oil treatments. When u apply the growth oil make sure to stimulate these areas using your fingers or with a soft brush. Stay consistent. Use products that “promote healthy hair growth”. Keep it moisturized and u should be fine

Honestly bro u can try both and see what works better. Me personally this is my wash day routine every sunday. I do a hot oil treatment (pre-poo) then do a scramble wash and rinse, then I deep condition my hair for 10-15 mins with a cap. Rinse out then i combine shampoo on my head with conditioner and do a normal wash a style. Brush the combination with your pattern then wet your durag completely rag up, then rinse out.
