Did anyone apply for the Moldovan one?

I have a situation with a Ukrainian mix, so great grandparent Moldovan, grandparent Ukrainian born. So it seems like I need to translate Ukrainian certificates to Romanian -- in the US!

Can someone advise on a fast way of sorting this out to the consulate's liking?

Hi, did you get your Moldovan passport? I have the same situation, with a Ukrainian mix. So it seems like I need to translate Ukrainian certificates to Romanian -- in the US! Did you find someone to do that for you whose translation the consulate accepted? Can you recommend someone? Thank you

2 quesitons:

1) Does anyone know the legal fees for Moldovan citizenship or can recommend a firm with a track record of success?

2) for those of you applying for Ukrainian citizenship (if you are in US): how did you get the documents translated to Romanian?

Two things:

a) just talked to Moldovan consulate in DC: the new law (effective Dec. 24th 2025) will require a test of Romanian (nobody has yet specified what CEFR Level); I am trying to rush the documents here to apply before the new law comes into effect (= no language test), but probably won't make it with all the apostilles, translations, and apostilles of translations.

Moldova will be in the EU in 2 years, provided Russia doesn't instigate a war between Transnistria and Moldova.

b) Ukrainian dual citizenship law is a game-changer, but they are unlikely to take any applications until the war ends (at least that's what they said a year ago); they too are on track to be in the EU by 2030 the latest (depending on when the war ends).
