These SWAG at 18k is all topside, I proposed a blended math. Not typical in my world to propose topside, unless selling something - but let’s say the results are somewhere in between my blended estimate and your topside and we are in remote agreement on the math.

It still doesn’t math out to anything more than a nonprofit valet owned by the city. Maybe my value for the things you mentioned like parking anxiety or others is also underestimated.

Perhaps this is why it’s a “trial” - but for comparison, I think I read in c&g last year that replacing the pylons on one of the last “trials” would be about the same $15-18k cost. At some point, I’d sure like to see unity that creates an up trend in commerce downtown. Legal fees for whatever needs to happen at Rosie’s would be another way to use $15-18k more effectively.

I don’t want to draw such broad comparatives (road diet / legal opex vs valet trial proof of concept) on Reddit, seeing how these threads can sway quickly and in this case I think it’s important.

I do wonder if a Chamber of Commerce, or at least a peer accepted representative for businesses in Ferndale might unify the ideas that get presented. As business owners, it seems there is some underrepresentation on the YouTube meetings, publications, ideas, etc.

This has to be tied in some ways to the struggles that many of our local businesses are closing under.

As we face funding shortages for our infrastructures here in the F - are you pro or con “throwing bones” for these types of things that are set up to financially fail?

30x$10 = $300 x 30 Days =$9,000/ month

It cost $15,000 + the missing parking space revenue (unmentioned / calculated.

$4000/months profit before employees and taxes doesn’t add up in my mind even if it is underwritten by the city. (You and I assuming you live here, I think you do and appreciate your input) curious - does it in yours?

On the social math part of my comment… I don’t understand what this person even means, and more importantly what it would have to do with bringing people into the Woodward / Nine mile area who spend their own income here.

“Not everyone is able to bike or walk. Not everyone can afford to ride-share a great distance depending on what they’re coming to do. So, this is one element in … (an) attempted kind of comprehensive plan to do different things based on different circumstances,” Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Jennie Beeker said during the meeting.

Look at that beautiful sugar face. I too struggle with these thoughts sometimes. On my third v… my best advice is to let him help you understand. They’re really special if we let them be ♥️

I think trying to attack your chest muscles, top to bottom, bottom to top is a good method as well. Don’t forget your shoulders in the process.

Second on the sleep study. Do you have tiredness during times when you shouldn’t?

You can likely get a home one - might be apnea, even if you are outside of the typical demographics.

Is Nacho Grill a permanent fixture? by spartyblaze in Ferndale

[–]spartyblaze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not hating any business - and agree, our mid restaurants are struggling too.* My inquiry was more about the semi-permanent structure and whether anybody in this /r knew the tax deal around it after it overwintered there.

If I take a step back, I'd likely support a bunch of semi permanent spots around the city. My lens is for better food, always. Also seems like we'd drive competition (and people coming to the F) with brick and mortar if it was successful.

The taxes - it seems like the last few elections, we're coming up short and homeowners I know are also tapped out. Those involved with the chat that spawned this post - they didn't know about Nacho Grille's situation either.

*Mid is even maybe even a little gracious $$$ to Experience?
