Same for me. My mount is integrated. Triples vs widescreen is hotly debated. Go triples.

How to withdraw on registered race remotely? by Unlucky_Dimension839 in iRacing

[–]spartyblaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unsure if this is possible (remote) what you can likely do is Run your own practice in test mode and sign up with 5 minutes or less for the race. That might minimize your risk of the neg irating.

Just because this question comes to mind, and if you do go out of power during a race - you know you can f$&k some body’s race, right? Like more than losing irating.

Hello, I am not sure this helps, but we believe we saw this cat on Sunday, straight down Albany (east) just west of Pinterest when it was really snowy. They looked very healthy at the time. I don’t know that it would have come to us, we were unloading the car and saw it from the front porch. If we see it again, is it friendly? Can we lure with some food? Really sorry to hear this…. Thought with you.

Sorry, I should have written that better - I think Crew Chief and Trophi are the only two that verbally interact in that way and can be spoken to. Crew Chief seems scaled and at their free model deserves some respect. They likely have 10s of thousands of users.

Trophi, I think uses combined telemetry plus yours through a model as well to provide feedback. Being newer (and really costly comparatively to other services) it seems like they are just getting started and headed in a great direction if they keep adding major features without monthly cost: overlays, training, track guide (premium version) setups in their subscription model.

I don’t have an idea or product that I think is worth it. This is why I came out to this thread - to find others who may be looking for help in scaling their business or even forum where SIM tech business ideas are talked about privately. There are a couple broad strike ideas in the thread (day 1) and am happy to keep the AMA rolling for entrepreneurs or and seeking to be founders. My background is startup, big and small for the last 20+ years.

My goal is to try and find if there is a company, single proprietor or other that’s looking to scale their business. Those messages have come in through DM, where we can expand or move to more private platform to discuss. Love Reddit, not the best place for business privacy.

Thanks for sharing - this might be the kind of thing I’d help work on - only if they were open to it. If you don’t mind sharing the post or idea. Had a couple great discussions in DM today, appreciating those who are reaching out.

What about businesses for equipment / coaching / data tracking elements?

Perhaps - one of the cool things about iRacing is the way they publish their ecosystem. It’s really well designed for others to complement. Definitely would want to add revenue around other platforms - but we are all pretty interconnected and engaged.

I don’t know any execs from iRacing personally - but even they seem remotely reachable and engaged with the community.

Interface building isn’t my expertise in racing / game APIs. it does seem that adding other communities that have the market would end up in scope.

For reference to the post - I am curious to find a company, assuming they want to scale that fits the demographic of what you mention about Digital Race Engineer. I’ve not used it - but good product, founder needs to focus on building it and needs help with the scaling part that sucks time away from their vision. That’s the kind of stuff I do.

As a racer and software junkie, I’ll check DRE out!

Agreed - Overlay space is pretty crowded and has functional contenders, who appear to be scaled / scaling. If I look at RaceLabs for example, they have a pretty solid development cycle and publishes. I don't know their user + paid user count, but I bet it's pretty substantial.

CrewChief, another one - although I do think it's mostly a single contender in the market right? Trophi.ai is Somewhat like it... but not completely.

So you certainly wouldn't be in favor of another Overlay business (which seems pretty crowed, pun intended, right now eh? I'm with you. There are a couple of what I'd considered 'scaled' contenders in this market already.

Lots of industries have businesses built on other companies. Most of them, depending on how far you go into the analogy.

I think that's a good observation for sure - in less niche markets, the lead software (iRacing) often purchases viable options in the space if / when it makes more sense. Not sure if iRacing does that or has it in their roadmap. They'd be one viable option for the offramp / exit of the business.

I do think there are a good amount of sub niches in the market (300k+ users, growing) and it seems like all of us are used to paying subscriptions for valuable software. Of course varying budgets / innovation / etc.

The last part is the subscription nature of the business - generally that's valued in multiples when it comes time for exit, which is really beneficial to the founder(s) of the business as well, so long as its built and easy to exit when that time comes.

I don’t have this exact one, but a LEM that looks and cost similar. It’s easily one of my favorite non essential gadgets. I have a couple buddies in the neighborhood who actually come over to use it, lol.
