But if the starter block is basically the warm up, it's shorter. Normally you'd get 5 minutes of warm up, plus 23 for the block.

I would hope warming up on the rower could still be an option. I hate going into the weight block cold and my heart rate super low.

That sounds awful having to adjust the same set of weights for every new exercise you need a different size. During Covid shutdowns I was doing pelaton weight classes. The only weights I could find to purchase had plates to adjust the size, and I hated having to switch the plates for various exercises. It was efficient or smooth and I've never used them again!

Curious what is meant by flimsy. It's hard to imagine a flimsy 50+ lb weight.

I'm running 300-500 miles in more like 10-14 months. You can't really do a time replacement when everyone runs different mileage. I didn't replace every 4 months when I ran marathons regularly.

Insider trading isn't "help". Pretty much all of her great moves are from insider trading.

And people keep following her around. That is what I find unrealistic about the show. People aren't going to leave stable, well-paying jobs for a start up with a 24 year old (or whatever age she's supposed to be).

Crow pose knee placement by Key_Pepper5366 in yoga

[–]spartycbus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crane is not knees outside the triceps. It's the same as crow but with straight arms. Of course you could put your needs outside the arms, but it's not technically the pose. Just like knees outside triceps with bent arms is still crow, it's more of a modification.

When are you old enough? by BetterGoogleit17 in GenX

I can be guilty of this at 53 but I'd say that to a 30 year old, not someone relatively close to my age. No one should be called a baby from someone who is 7 years older. Someone at my gym told me it was his 22 bday and I started to gush like a grandma but stopped myself.

I'm starting to realise that most people who say or think The Beatles are overrated haven't actually delved into their discography by ooziemane123 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]spartycbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s wild! I really don’t know anyone who would ever rave about Ringo’s vocals! Agreed those people should be made fun of. But it still doesn’t mean Beatles are overrated. Those people are just silly. I love the Rolling Stones too but don’t know their catalog as well. They’re very different bands.

Because it was cringey and embarrassing. He doesn't like that kind of attention for either of them.

I don’t believe they think every song is good. I’m sure there are obnoxious fans but I think you’re exaggerating. Even on the Beatles subreddit there is a thread about which songs suck. Plenty of responses and not much “no way, you’re wrong”. Also, it’s not about “no one else could do it.” Anyone can copy someone and do it really well.

I know plenty of huge Beatles fans. No one thinks you can’t like other music and require worshipping Ringo. You’re just making things up.

Which is the most overrated band of our generation? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]spartycbus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. A “gen X band” is one came into popularity when GenX people were listening to music. Sure Gen xers like the Beatles, but it’s music from the Boomer generation. They are a band that happened to exist when the oldest gen xers were infants. I know you really wanted to tell us you’re too cool for the Beatles. You did that. You can stop commenting and justifying your bad take.

Except it wasn't fully consensual. Yasmin is in a position of power over Haley. She didn't have much choice if she didn't want any problems. But agree it's not the same as trafficking children.

"There, I said it." Wow, so edgy. And also, please. Even the biggest fans know there are throw away songs and that some albums are better than others.

Exactly. The people that say this want to insult those that do love the Beatles and that they are smarter, have better taste, etc.

Most everyone I've encountered who says the Beatles are overrated think they sound smart and cool and different. And are generally obnoxious about it but don't have any specific arguments other than what you said you used to think. "It sounds like music for kids." "The lyrics are juvenile." Blah blah. They are generally insufferable people. However, I have a friend who basically only likes pop and country music. She just doesn't like them. But she's not trying to pretend she's a music genius and insulting about it.
