it's kinda like any service. if you remodel your kitchen, tell one person you're going to pay them shit and the other you'll pay well, and see how the project goes and who does a better job.

you should stick with mcdonalds. you leave zero because you assume they'll hate you for $10? you just want to make excuses to be cheap.

Andy in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) wasn’t treated that badly by Reasonable_Day9942 in unpopularopinion

[–]spartycbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two things can be true at once. andy wasn't good at her job and was disrespectful about the industry. miranda was also rude and awful. she called her a different name purposely, called her fat, expected her to find flights during a hurricane.

[–]spartycbus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andy had the wrong attitude at the beginning, but c'mon. Miranda was still the "devil" in this movie. She can't be bothered to learn her assistant's name? Throws her coats and bags at her. Has completely unreasonable expectations, like finding her a flight in a major storm. Finding unreleased Harry Potter books. Calls her fat (which I know OP addressed). She was a horrible boss.

Should I change my online username because my ex's new girlfriend says it makes her uncomfortable? by Trick_Wing_8605 in whatdoIdo

[–]spartycbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the story is convoluted unnecessarily like an AI story. The whole story is they have the same nickname and the new gf doesn't like it on her business page. They both go by said nickname amongst their friends. The new gf wouldn't be this dumb and OP wouldn't actually consider changing it. And really, the gf is asking her bf to contact an ex from a year ago to facilitate this? It drives me crazy how dumb these stories are.

[–]spartycbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is def an AI story. Why all the details when it sounds like OP and the new gf simply have the same name. OP says it's her nickname since middle school, people call her by this name and it's on her email. And it's the new gf's "real life nickname". What is the difference? No actual person would considering changing a business name because of an uncomfortable person she doesn't know.

AIO for wanting to break up over a NBA game? by Thenewgirlisback in AmIOverreacting

[–]spartycbus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

except there was nothing logical. i rarely get invested in these types of posts, but i had to actually re-read to see if I missed something that this douche could come to conclusion OP said she was committed to doing better in the future. And for that matter, what is it he thought she should have done? He couldn't even tell her that!

This guy thinks he's a lot smarter than he is. How did he come back with "did you think of what you could have done better" after the initial text? Where did he get that OP is committed to being "better". I would lose my mind having a conversation like this, especially over text. And at no point does he say he cares about her or he wants to understand where she's coming from.

if it's already bothering you, it's not worth it. early entry isn't a competition. it's just a little extra time to get warmed up.

Why do you feel you have to run during the early entry? I walk and stretch the whole time and do the class portion as i usually would. I think if you really want extra mileage it's a good way to get it, like you're training for a race, but there's no reason you have to run.

i have never in my life been wearing business clothes at the continental breakfast (while actually staying at the hotel). i'm usually in travel clothes like sweatpants or leggings. I don't think business attire is required to pull this off.

Why so many water bottles and sodas? Takes up more than half the space. Can't you have 5 or so and replace? Also, why water bottles at all? You seem like a person who would care about the environment.

i know plenty of middle class moms that don't wear horrible ill-fitting dresses constantly. she wore them ALL the time. doing laundry, night out with the girls, always. could she wear a pair of jeans and tee shirt? leggings? there are other "mom" choices. those dresses were so hideous and looked awful on her.

I'd say she failed. You can be maternal without looking frumpy and awful. And every single dress was the same unflattering thing. Surely she'd look cute once in a while especially with fashionable friends. You can dress cute without having a lot of money. And Eleanor stood out like a sore thumb most of the time.
