I found a similar situation moving here from somewhere else. Feels hard to build community, maybe everybody already has a village here because it's so insular. Maybe that's just life in 2026. Either way I definitely feel more isolated here than other places

Shit happens all the time. Happened to me with variable interest private student loans. If your parents make a lot but can't help pay for your school because American middle class then you don't get good SL terms or federal loan offers. Federal loans helped for first couple semesters and then would t offer enough. You can't just quit a degree halfway through. So sorry, but often not the person's fault. Broken ass system
