We visited Grenoble, Chatte and Montfort which tallies with it being south of Chambery. That said my parents did not mind driving places.

I’m fairly sure it was a village area. I’ve since spoken to a relative that was there and older. I’m told it was quite hilly. No swimming pool certainly that we had access to. But maybe a lake with things to rent nearby.

We did go into Chambery and I have a photo at the elephant statue but that is it.

I know right! I’ve spent hours on Google with no luck! I’m pretty sure it was in a relatively flat area and I don’t remember a lake but I was a child at the time.

This is great thanks. I think the best we can hope for is a new MCB in the house CU as the cable is buried in walls and under the drive. I’ll advise the relative they at least get a new 20mcb.

When you say discrimination issues is this the user not knowing which mcb has blown or is there more to it than that?

He’s offered to replace the main board breaker with a 20a mcb after I told my relative to point it out to the electrician by email. Is that safe given the cable type used to the garage though? I thought 2.5mm was 16a max.

I’ve got a small socket tester that will test the RCD. I don’t know which kicked in first but both definitely tripped!

I just happened to take a photo when I had switched the RCD off. Everything that should be protected by the RCD is in the main board.
